The Old Folks Home

I finally found a purpose for all my unused leg bands. I tried to make a squirrel proof suet feeder. We'll see how well it works.
I have one of those hanging in my Lavender Orpington pen. They can go through a cube in a heartbeat!! They like the mealworm/sunflower mix really well. I dont think it stays full long enough for the squirrels to find it! :D

Power came back on at 1:30ish am... I didn't need it for heat (wood heat in half the house)... But having to melt snow for water is a drag.

The amount of shovelling and plowing that must be done today! :he

Wisher, the neighbors made it for us. There's hardware cloth on the back, holding it all together.

Al, glad you got the power back. Does your well not run off the generator?

Congrats on all recent and coming family additions.

Anyone get any cool presents?

We don't have a generator for our house... We have wood heat for half the house, and it does OK for the entire house when it has to. When we have no power, for water we have snow in the winter and our pond in the summer.

But, we have a bunch of people/places we take care of, and they all have generators.

Cool presents:

My youngest made me an oven mitt made comepletely out of duct tape. the kids also made sharpened sticks and paintings. Pretty cool.
