The Old Folks Home

Lol! I had the same thing happen this morning when I got to work, same post to you and latestarter, but with some rants to latestarter on our city influx of people who want to change our area, I did rate it 50 50, we have some great city people neighbors here who love this place for the same reasons we do, then we have some others....interested only in their equity and resale value of their new homes, WE live here WE don't care about things that will raise our taxes even more...Good thing it didn't post, it was a rant. I think it didn't post cause of my crappy phone though.
When ever that happens to me, I figure it's the Universe telling me to keep my mouth shut.

Wisher, I wouldn't try that theory either. Probably people with low thyroid are the ones that survive. We have a lady on the senior bus - 76 that wears a hooded coat all year round - no joke. Even if it's in the 90's and horrible humidity. I'm sure she never uses a fan or air conditioning.

Old people...
I have a super easy job, play on my phone most of the day and read magazines, no supervisors, heck no one comes down here. It's HOT, winter now and we have some painter contractors painting my room, two three four stories up in the heat, they left early Friday couldn't take it anymore, I told them they should see how it is in the summer. I sit in front of a big barn fan blowing hot air, at least it keeps the sweat dried out. I have a 'office' , big desk, comfy chair, yrs ago they were going to enclose it, sound proof it, super loud you do not take your earplugs out ever, and add air conditioning. Old guy who had ran the rooms for about 50 yrs told management and the plant engineer that they didn't need no air conditioning down there, so it didn't happen. He walked around with a coat on when it was 95 degrees in the summer!
He was a great guy though, one part of the first sent to Vietnam when it first began, and did two tours. Had a unbelievable retirement, invested wisely, plus this place had way better retirement way back. I loved to talk to him, old people have a wealth of information in their heads, and many good stories to tell. He bought a quarter million dollar motor home and had two places down south lined up to buy, only was going to buy one. Had a great idea, he talked the sellers into letting him live in the houses for a month a piece, so he could experience the neighborhood and decide if he liked the area, then he would make his decision. He died three months after he retired...I'm retiring at 55 even if I go broke...

Guineas are incredible flyers. When I used to go out in the yard I could hear them up in the rocks on the otherside of my house I would holler Treat Treat tread. The conversation would change to bzzing and chuckling to Cacaphony.... and they would land on the roof peak. Then run along the roof to make sure I was telling the truth.... then down in to the yard

deb, the guinea cock I used to have would make all sorts of racket standing on my second story chimney! I miss them, some people do not like the noise, I loved it. They've been gone five yrs now and I still find a feather here and there and every time I think dang that would make a great trout fly...
