Ok, I just have to, just have to mind you, share this video on a couple of sites. Why? Not quite sure.
1. Yes, eggs usually start small and get bigger with each egg laying cycle. It takes a couple of months for breeds that start laying at 20 weeks to get to the first years size. Laying cycle is from 3 to 6 eggs usually--basically a weeks worth of eggs. The pullet will usually take a day off between cycles. Eggs will get bigger after each molt. Some will start laying huge eggs after year 3!Does anyone know if young pullets, just beginning to lay will lay bigger eggs as they mature? Also, are the mites that chickens have mature chiggers? Im used to chiggers when baling hay or straw or even sometimes just handling bales but i got a case after cleaning the coop which included handling straw bales to rebed the coop.
Hi. Im new
It gets harder to get them this time of the year--Are you looking for hatchery breeds?Thinking of getting some chickens. Tired of stealing eggs. Any advice?
