Hi, Klucky! What have y'all been up to?

We had a tenant we had to evict. He did about $5000 worth of damage before he left. We finally got everything fixed. Its been a major headache screening and interviewing potential tenants.
That and homeschooling our 7yr old has made for some long days.

Hope all is well with my old folks here.

Scg I have to say i admire your sewing talent. I want a quiet time book too.

The pictures of the woods are beautiful.

Since moving here, at times I've heard jungle animals. I figured a neighbor had some wildlife show turned up loud on their TV. Come to find out, there is a wildlife sanctuary on the next driveway behind, and to the right of us. There is a donkey farm in front, to the left of us. Morning coffee on the screen porch comes with some very interesting sounds.

I found our regular silverware today. I hope to find our dishes tomorrow. I was able to cook spaghetti sauce for tomorrows supper. We may have to eat on paper plates, but we won't have to eat out.

getaclue, hope you won't have to deal with wild animal predators I don't think 1/2" hardware cloth could repel them

I use welded wire on my coops, and will run electric fencing too. No chicken dinners for the local predators, or rednecks from me.

I went to a renaissance fair this past weekend and they had a kookaburra that they were telling the crowd to tell people was a "carolina laughing monkey" if they asked what that weird noise was. Don't know if anyone did, but she did kinda sound like a monkey... didn't help that she was doing her noises into the guys microphone.... lol

woo Hoo we are getting our first thunderstorm in YEARS.... Bone and window rattling rainfall heavy enough you cant see more than about thirty feet....

Did you enjoy it? Did you get flooding from the ground being so dry?

Have to add my kudos to your beautiful work SCG. Where do you find the time?

I had a rough day today but not as rough as our oldest cat. We noticed 2 weeks ago that he is loosing weight. He is a lively 16 and just a sweet solid black, half Siamese half mischief maker miniature panther. We took him to the vet who weighed him and had us come back today. After two weeks of throwing food at him constantly we found out he had lost another half pound. They did blood work and the verdict was diabetes. His blood sugar is almost 500. OUCH! So now I am doing something I didn't think I'd be doing again. Giving insulin shots to a patient twice a day. Being retired means I'm taking care of patients again only these have four legs or 2 legs with feathers.

The pay sucks but the rewards are immeasurable.

I don't watch TV and I don't have kids.

Thanks for checking in and the update. What a headache. If you had to do it all over would you be a landlord?

Yes, they really do. At some point, I will take the grandkids to see it, and post some pics.
