Two evenings ago, my husband took his FPV RC plane out for a spin and flew it over the timber that surrounds our farm. While you can see color in our leaves from the ground, the view from the air was spectacular so I'm wondering if it isn't the same for your trees and their fall color.

We had 80 degree weather on Saturday. It was just a kick wearing shorts a few days before Halloween. Then yesterday it barely got out of the 40s. I love fall but that is a little over the top for me.

On a comical note. I have a young, 19 month old Welsummer rooster named BOHICA that has set himself up as flock master with the single minded intent of intimidating and beating up all the other young cockerels to the point that he has them corralled in a corner of the run afraid afraid for their lives. I'm amazed that he has managed to do this as he is in molt and the cockerels he is bullying about are half his age and twice his size. Friday I got enough of his behavior, caught the moth eaten appearing rooster and told him he had a new job designation.....he was officially Daddy Bird and I tossed him in the grow out pen with Little Girl and her 7-7 week old chicks. Since I had a rat trying to get in their pen I figured they could use a good protector and BO took to the the job with zeal. He's been strutting about teaching the youngsters who is in charge and offering them tidbits. I had to laugh at him this morning though. When I let them out, I generally toss them a piece of bread at the far end of the run to move everyone out of the coop so I can check food and water and they stampede to see who can get to it first. This morning, BO took first helpings, teaching the youngsters that the had first priority. Nobody told the OEGB chicks that tho and while the three Buff O chicks waited for mom to get them some bites of bread the OEGB chicks were darting in between BO's legs and spooking him as if they were telling him who was really in charge of the bread. One of them finally ran under his beak and he jumped about a foot in the air and decided that it wasn't worth the hassle.

I just gotta get some more OEGBS so they can keep my roosters in line.

I hope so. That boy can stand some attitude adjustment.I was hoping to get one OEGB cockerel out of my September hatch but so far I'm seeing pullets....which don't get me wrong, is good. Still I thought a youngster with the OEGB attitude would be able to give BOHICA a run for his money. That rooster runs the flock like a middle east dictator. Ruthless as all get out but he makes the trains run on time so to speak.
