Something to put on your list of things to try.

Irish oats, never tried them myself either. Going to have to check them out myself also. I like oatmeal, Wheatena, grits, cornmeal mush, dw and kids prefer them sweet, I prefer them with salt and pepper and a couple sloppy eggs on top :-D

What oatmeal are you making that needs a pressure cooker?

I use the old fashioned Quaker oats, which I thought/believed were steel cut rolled oats. They look, feel and taste the same as the steel cut rolled oats I see in the bulk bins at the "health food" stores... and they're ready to eat after ~ 5 minutes on a low boil... I don't want to eat oat glue...

Yeah, rolled oats are steamed before they go through the rollers, so they are about half cooked, you just finish them off, steel cut oats aren't cooked at all... I've tried them a few times, wasn't impressed, but it was things like a yogurt with steel cut oats in/on it already... so I assume raw?

Dad used to like to have Wheat berries occasionally.   I have only had them once and they were very good.   They took a half an hour simmered on the stove.

Whats a hot pot ?

What college kids use to cook their crackhead soup (ramen) in dorms.
A small electric pot with a temp nob, it will boil water on high.

Ummm, this is creepy then I think of them pouring soy sauce I do believe. over squid.. that makes it squirm like it's alive.  Very creepy.  Will see if I can share some creepy, creepier than this.

That just is mean.
I've seen them eat small one's whole/live. Can't imagine what it'd be like if it latched on they way down...

Quote: So that's a live squid??? I showed my son after the results came through last night and we were trying to determine that.

whether it's live or dead, but if it's alive...that's just not right. I agree with Beer can...that's mean.

Like a cat with a mouse...just kill it already and eat it already. No torturing it.

Ehhh, I think that squid technically is still alive. The brain is located pretty much between the eyes, so though most of the body has been removed, the neurological center is still present and functioning (for the moment, anyway). I know frogs' legs can twitch in response to chemical/electrical stimuli, even when removed from the frog, but this looks like it may be a bit more than that.
