Weather here..snowing again! I know that some states are going to get colder..but we are also going to hit into the minus degree weather. Single digits tonight. :(

My Missy doesn't mind the snow for now. Ziggy, the Schoodle in the back is staying on the path.

Missy looking for an apple I covered with snow.

Getting that apple.

Sitting there watching Ziggy wondering why he won't come into the snow. And yes, yes I
do read my dogs' minds. :)

ron, bare with me, I know you saw these on the other thread. :) I have fun with her.

I'm going to go out and try to remove what we've gotten so far. It will keep snowing until 5 which should give me another half inch or so maybe for stability?

If it rains on what I currently have out there and that freezes solid on Monday I won't be able to recover the rest of the winter, I fear.

We have more ice here than snow, although it is finally snowing here. I minced my way out to the chicken coop this morning with our 3 year old coon hound mix bounding around me like he just got a free ticket to Disneyland all the while me chanting the mantra, Do Not Fall. Do Not break a Wrist. Don Not Fall. Do Not Break a Hip.

Funny how that Mantra changes as you age.

Boy do it know that chant!!!

I would rather have to deal with 2 feet of snow than 2 inches of ice

chicki, Our family Christmas get together is held the Sunday before Christmas to allow family members to do all the "other family" things Christmas Eve and Day. No celebration for us this year either.

Too far to drive in ridiculously cold temps and on slick roads for older members and those with small children. We love living "in the middle of nowhere" but it makes it hard to get family to travel here in the winter. We'd rather have them safe and will have to see them next year sometime. We've been out here 16 years and this is only the second time we have cancelled due to weather.
