The Old Folks Home

Latestarter - unfortunately it is true which is why I never married. I have 3 examples -my late father, brother and son. In dating, I'm sure I subconsciously picked men like them . They would start out really nice for first date or two and then turn into the VICTIM when everything I did caused them grief. Picking a restaurant where HE couldn't find a parking place or got into shouting match with another driver.
Another time HE picked a restaurant and then was told he had to wear a tie, and didn't like the ones offered him. He stormed out of the place cussing me.

I had learned from previous restaurant not to ever suggest one to him.

I once worked for a male friend who showed dogs. After I loaded up the dog crates(with occupants) on a dolly HE told me to take them to the van. I couldn't budge them( 5' tall and 91 lbs. at the time) A younger person came by and helped me. HE had a fit and said I was pulling "a whipped puppy act," to make HIM look bad.

There weren't many in my life - my age, somewhat older, several years older, all treated me the same. I could list more incidents but, they wouldn't be fit to print here . My sister married a guy just the same as our father.

I only dated one man who acted like that. One date.... that was it... Not my date from He double hockey sticks thouhg....

He was actually a very nice guy who had high expectations for himself... too high.

My dad once irritated another driver so much the other driver flipped him the bird.... Dad blew him a kiss... I am so glad we were on separate off ramps...

But I do know with me... when I am anxious about another the least little thing sets my temper off....

I don't know how big city dwellers stand it.

We don't. I lived in Las Vegas, NV, for over 10 years. We had a streetlight right our our back fence which illuminated everything and, of course, the lights from town. A decade is a long time not to see stars. Now I live in New Mexico in a town that doesn't have streetlights and it gets REALLY dark after sunset. I watch the sky often. Not really seeing the night sky and not having fog were the two things I really missed.

Went out this morning to get feed and other farm supplies at the local farm supply store.

I asked for 3 bags of salt for my arctic ice sheet. The owner asked "do you want salt or calcium chloride?"

I countered with "calcium chloride is a salt."

It went downhill from there.

...downhill seems to be a theme for you this week

I've never bought any, but I know my daughter uses a "salt" on her walkways that is not sodium chloride, since the salt runoff would kill the grass.

I think it's potassium or magnesium chloride, but I'm not sure.

Lol! I have a metal water bottle that has dihydrogen monoxide on it, you would be amazed at how many people tried to tell me I was drinking poison and would NOT believe me when I said it was water.

Isn't that really common? And unfortunate.

Maybe next time the guy should ask "calcium or sodium chloride?"
