Hi everyone

Been really really busy and sounds like you all have been too! So sorry for you folks on the west coast, south and the rest having all the horrible weather. Up here in what should be the frozen tozen land it's been insane! We have had record breaking warmth for days. The maple sappers started tapping trees last week. That is just unheard of!!! They are looking at possibly the best season ever. We actually had an all night rain storm the other night, another unheard of. I've been able to get a ton of spring chores done. Did a complete spring cleanout on the coop this afternoon and sunburnt my face in the process

Still a few things I can't do, like get into the herb garden because the snow is too deep, still is actually winter even tho the thermometer doesn't know it right now. Lots of mud tho everywhere we had shoveled because the ground is trying to thaw. Speaking of snow, I'm doing all my outside work today without even a jacket but we went under a winter storm watch for Thursday/Friday. This spring is shaping up to be a pretty crazy ride. Supposed to be one more day of record breaking warm tomorrow and a couple of gates and some fencing that needs tending so it's off to a nice hot shower to relieve a few sore muscles and snuggle into bed to watch a good movie I've had waiting on the Genie for just such an occasion.

@chickisoup glad to hear our temps have not been bad me still in long johns
cannot regulate my temps very quick but rubber boots We have our old trash burner in the living room
burn enough in it to keep most arthritis at bay also... did get the new door on on my Greenhouse
will start plants in there this next week also picked up 6 more tires for our planting boxes
best black potting dirt anywhere right outside in my chicken run

Looks perfect!

It is still flooding here in Northern Ca. We had another atmospheric river come through yesterday. The Sacramento River is at mild flood stages and places near the river are flooded. It has been worse before though.

Dams are now high enough that they need to open spillways. One levy broke yesterday and flooded a town. The break in the levy has been patched for now. Hopefully this will be the last of the big storms. If we can get a week of dry weather all will be good.

Woodland is fine but they have told us to keep a bag packed.

Been watching all of that! I have stood on that dam before. I understand that they were told they should do some repair on that spill way, but didn't. :/

Thank you for the lovely photos. I do enjoy them. The buds are beautiful (and probably at least a month out, here) and I have a special soft spot for bulbs.

I agree that BYCers are some of the best. I met my best friend on here. On a whim I flew out to Utah to go hiking with her. I figured if she killed me I've had a good life, and if she didn't kill me, I could have some fun. Well I am glad I took the risk. On a whim we both flew out to Alabama and met another good friend for the first time in person two years ago. For those of you I haven't met, I can't imagine life without you. So many of you have shared your stories, and given countless hours of support for those of us struggling.

Whoo-Hoot!

The KitchenAid grain mill is secret priced today on Amazon. There's also a promo code for today only -- BIGTHANKS -- which gives you an extra 10% off on Amazon purchases. Just bought mine for under $65.

Is that the smell of lots of baking bread in my future?

Nice!

I can't wait to see pictures of what you bake. Have you checked out N F C s Home Bakers thread?

Ok, I don't know if I need an intervention or if I'm living life in a grand way... I made myself fried eggs for breakfast.... and used rendered chicken fat as the oil... fried chicken flavored eggs... yum

I cooked up a big batch of fat the other night, Zach thought I was making chicken soup... I let him think that... lol... It's safely in the freezer where he won't drink it now. Just open the bag and break off a piece when you need some for something...
