The Old Folks Home

Alaskan, haven't you got this getting stuck thing down pat yet? You seem to keep having to practice doing it.

Had some upper 60's and even 70 out here but that's all going down hill on the weekend. I really did expect to see the Robins & Red Winged Blackbirds - they generally come in at the same time. There is a telephone pole near the house and whichever Blackbird sees it first, usually claims it for the rest of the year. The call is very distinctive, so I know when it is here. Of course he has to chase the squirrels off first - they lay claim to if through the winter.

Mary, one of the zoo Emus nipped my fingers twice , the third time it added a twisted motion to really pinch. Yes, I learned my lesson but, wanted to experience what it was like when the Other Mary had them. Of course her Loca, also broke her crowns - I didn't want to mimic that. I wouldn't offer them open toed shoes either.

Just thought maybe I was an emu whisperer. Kathy in Mo, had perfected the whistle tune that emu's responded to, and they followed her everywhere.

Dsqard is fine, we're "training" for our Yosemite hike this spring.

Diva - didn't my broody turkey lessons teach you anything?

(She's still broody, I threw 2 more eggs under there a few days ago... this is getting absurd, pretty sure it's been since September?)

Thank you for the lovely photos. I do enjoy them. The buds are beautiful (and probably at least a month out, here) and I have a special soft spot for bulbs.

I agree that BYCers are some of the best. I met my best friend on here. On a whim I flew out to Utah to go hiking with her. I figured if she killed me I've had a good life, and if she didn't kill me, I could have some fun. Well I am glad I took the risk. On a whim we both flew out to Alabama and met another good friend for the first time in person two years ago. For those of you I haven't met, I can't imagine life without you. So many of you have shared your stories, and given countless hours of support for those of us struggling.

60 degrees yesterday...6 inches of snow this morning. Utah weather. I don't mind it, but I know someone that does...did. She is now .. wait..where it snows also!

DiDi..how is she, haven't seen her in a while.
Aww SCG I could not agree more. I am so happy we arranged meeting that first trip and I completely treasure the friendship we have built on it.

Cynthia, yeah I don't get on here very much these days. My work schedule has been a bit crazy since I moved to PA. I don't spend a lot of time on the computer on the weekends either since SCG keeps pushing me to get my sewing projects done.

I will definitely try to get on here more often and will obviously share the photos from SCG's and my trip to CA in June.
