welcome back

Good to see you again!

You have been missed!

Maddy sure looks good! She is done with surgeries now, right?

And how are you doing on the pig, poultry, etc. front? Still have the animals?

Maddy is definitely done with surgeries, and doing great. She's having an issue with allergies, though. She's going through testing to determine what she's allergic to. Poor bit broke out in hives last month and we couldn't figure out why. The day it happened she had peanut butter for lunch and catfish for dinner. Two of her favorite foods. She'd had both before with no hives, so we're not sure what caused it. I guess the tests will tell.

Got a busy day today. Delivering ten hens and two roosters to a buyer. Then processing a hog for the freezer.

Mornin' everyone!
Another "crispy" one here (a balmy -6 F) but it's supposed to warm up quick, chickens are getting tired of being cooped up. I open the pophole as soon as the temps get out of the 10's but they want none of that, except of course my two Wyandotte teenagers.

You might remember I told you about our roadtrip to my oncologist in the big city on Monday and the planned stop at the TSC we'll pass right by on the way home for their Chick Days spring supply sale. Well, turns out they don't get their chicks in until the following Monday

(not sure he's figured out the live chick part, hehehe). I get the bright idea to try to move my appointment (no success of course) and the DH overheard me on the phone and I had to explain why I tried to reschedule. So he says, "Well, the TSC is only a little over 70 miles away, we can go the following week if you want to, just remind me." What??? Ok, so where is my DH (the one who ALWAYS thinks we have enough chickens) and what did you do with him??? That was way too easy.
His birthday's coming up next month. Why do I have the feeling this is going to cost me more than the price of a few chicks?

I have just been on Craig's list drooling over the coops for sale. A couple are REALLY nice. At least 2 are coop and chickens in a package deal. I think the "fad" joiners are finding out how much fun chickens are in winter here in frozen toezn land.
