I do have a dishwasher that I run about every third day. Since it is hooked up to cold water only I do pre-rinse and wash pots and pans by hand. It still saves me time every day. I usually keep a gallon kettle of hot water on the stove and dump it in the machine before it starts. So far the dishes come out 99.9 percent clean.
I hate soaking pots and pans.Usually I fall back on my kettle of hot water and the minute I dump the food from the pan I fill it with hot water. By the time the meal is over the pan or skillet is ready to wash.
Plus I have the pre-wash cycle on the washer which is our 4 dogs. To counter the doggy smoots I add about a third of a cup of bleach to the washer. Everything comes out sparkling clean and sanitized.
