The Old Folks Home

I make Refrigerator pickles.... peel and sliced cukes I also add Onions. Sweet white onions peeled and sliced and layed in a bowl pour on vinegar. Little bit of salt and pepper.... Cover with cling wrap... You can eat em with in an hour but every day you leave them the better they get.

I use the onions chopped up in Tarter sauce..... :drool
They are also good as a bed for steaming fish....

The cucumbers are just good.

That sounds interesting too. I've got several recipes for summer drinks that say to add cucumber slices, but blending it all together sounds better.

Do you perhaps have bluebirds confused with blue jays? While bluebirds will get into tussles with things like chickadees over nest sites, I've never heard of them preying on other birds. Jays, on the other hand, are opportunists who will take eggs and nestlings.

yup as maybe we do not have bluebirds just the robber jays that I shoot

One of the many things I enjoy about our new place, is the lack of blue jays, and the abundance of other types of birds. We have several Cardinal families, actual Bluebirds, Meadowlarks, Hummingbirds, and there is a Red Headed Woodpecker that lives in an old telephone pole on our property. We also get visited daily by a group of Sandhill Cranes. When there are blue jays, they tend to drive out the other types of birds.

When it move its head up it shakes and when it up to the top then it twists around then goes back down and it's breathing with its mouth open
