Really nice work SCG & very noble!!! I've loved all the pix & have stared at them all. I'm assuming George P. Howard was a sailor because of the etching on his stone. Is there anything you can do to repair the hack job that other guy did? ...Poor Joseph (um... Cleford???)

I, too, assume Howard is a Navy Veteran, but anchors can also symbolize Christian Hope or being "safely anchored in Heaven" - but being a Vet... guessing Navy. Haven't found much info about him.

I did find a photo of Webber

I may be able to chisel off the concrete that other guy did and set it right. Unfortunately there's a slew of other stuff to be dealt with first, besides that stone. In the cemetery I was working in today - it's only about 15 stones - two of the stones are broken off right at ground level, in their bases.

That's going to be a lot of chisel work for me to get that broken off piece out of the base. Luckily the break seems to be clean, so I will hopefully be able to mortar Lois in place with her stone as it is. There's two like this in there. Once I get those two fixed, the rest in that cemetery appear to just need to be cleaned, then that cemetery is all set.

There's another cemetery with one stone (a 2 year old boy) that I've been wanting to straighten for a long time. I probed it today and it seems like a very easy reset, without a base... I even have the sand and peastone from resetting that other stone, today. I may go out tomorrow and dig that up and reset it, then work on chiseling these puppies out. After fixing these 2 stones and cleaning the rest in there I'll have 100% of 2 cemeteries near me done (the two that annoy me the most because I drive past them twice a day), which will give me a chance to focus on the bigger cemeteries in the area and not be annoyed with these every time I drive by.

Finally got the hen that's setting on a clutch in the attic of Dh's shed moved to a pen. She settled right back down on the eggs, so far so good! I'm really hoping not to have to put them in the brooder.
Question...Should I put starter feed in when they hatch or just the grains I usually feed the chickens? Since mom will be with them Im not sure which way to go. I've always hatched and brooded them separately.

just feed everybody the chick starter and put a separate container of oyster shell out for momma.

If it were me...I would put starter in for when the chicks hatch. The hen will be fine eating the starter while the chicks are growing.

I'm feeding medicated chick starter to my one broody hen, the keet she has and the three tiny roosters with her. The chicks I moved into that pen had just started showing signs of coccidiosis prior to moving them out of the house. (I change out to new vinyl gloves prior to dealing with the house chicks and still managed to introduce it apparently.) So I changed to medicated. When I open the pen up they'll all be drinking the medicated water.

I feed 21% chick starter to the entire flock 100% of the time, free choice inside the coop. I feed grain outside; millet and wheat with screenings. It withstands rain if it gets rained on and gives them a variety. With the 21% protein of the chick starter...it should be in the vicinity of the protein provided in laying foods.

*I have seen someone post on BYC that too much protein can be detrimental for their kidneys. I haven't investigated that yet. I consulted a feed consultant and my vet last fall regarding what to feed the flock and whether chick starter could be an appropriate feed to feed 100% of the time. Both were worried about the egg shell quality more than anything. The vet explained that more urea would be excreted if the protein is higher. But then I feed a ton of grain in the winter for the cold weather so my protein shouldn't really be too high.
*If it's high, it's likely because I toss back so many raw eggs...but the starter I use is 100% veg protein and I want them to have an animal based protein.

Yup...that got a bit long. :th.
