The Old Folks Home

Hi Super, i remember you from years ago when i lived in TN and had like a billion chickens. I think we were in a hatch along. Do you recall? I had 100 goats and three pigs and 40 rabbits.

I thought you only had 9.5 million chickens then, but it's been years, so my memory isn't what it used to be.

For what it's worth I have a totally reasonable number of chickens, turkeys, guineas, ducks and goats. And a pig. And bees. And 3 cats. On second count... how about just

Welcome to TOFH.

good in the desert all year.... We have to tie down the trash cans and lids.

I remember one year when we were driving down to Casa Grande, Arizona. We dropped down out of the mountains and right into a dust storm north of Phoenix. Visibility was down to zero. We didn't know the road, cars were rear ending one another all around us. We couldn't stop, couldn't get off the road, couldn't even see the road. It lasted about 20 some odd miles and cleared out right before we hit Phoenix.

We have our severe thunderstorms/tornados/blizzards/heat waves and cold spells in the mid west but every eden has it's serpent and the South West's has got to be heat and dust storms.

I like surprises!!!

I was shocked when I checked after supper. The last one has quite a zip going.
You can see part of it in the pic.:celebrate

And here's the pic as promised. These are terrible pics! :yesss: But I don't want to disturb the keets now, it's getting dark.

Here's the um, er...the frizzle guinea??? Is it a frizzle?

I see there's two keets that show it. The white one not as much.
The others the same age are smooth.

I've been keeping an eye on the royal purple. This development with the feathers is fairly recent.

I saw someone who had keets with feathers sticking out like a pine cone, but i think your keets have theirs beat. They figured theirs might be due to heat because a lot of them were like that.
