The Old Folks Home

Omg y'all, it is a thing.

I know what I'm doing with the rest of my evening.

For some reason I keep thinking about the old episode of MASH where they were digging a new latrine and called it a 'two holer"

I never had an outhouse till we bought our homestead and it wasn't much of an outty. We wound up moving it to the woods with our tractor and using it as a deer blind.

Yes, we did have indoor plumbing, LOL

And dig deeper on that end, it's where Frank sits.

What say you, Ferretface?

actually I run around barefoot all the time. No Goat heads or even thistles... and the cacti are pretty easy

I only wore shoes if i was going to school or shopping when i was a kid. The soles of my feet are still like leather and my feet are wide. But i can't go barefoot here, too many plants i am allergic to. Don't you burn your feet in the sand?

Always went bare feet in the house. But always wore shoes outside. But not necessarily pants. I remember wearing my shorts through the winter (just at home) in grade 7.

Our outhouse was a two seater; one large hole and one smaller hole...cut like octagons! :lau Ouch! They probably didn't want me to fall in.

Why they didn't make circles..I don't know. I do remember being the first one to officially use the toilet when they finally installed a bathroom. And the first to walk through the patio door. The joys of being a kid...lol.

Its not always hot in the desert... mornings and evenings.... October through February.

The blowsand in the morning is like cool talc... it builds up on the lee side of the rocks and bushes... in the morning the jack rabbits lay like sphinx in the shade and talc.
