I had a Jersey Giant, Black Betty. She was hatchery stock. She was not huge like she should have been - maybe slightly bigger than a hatchery RIR - and she was slow. OMG slow. She'd mosey. Her and the brahma were the slowest chickens I've ever seen. There was never anything to be in a rush about, even if there was food involved. The rest of the birds would turn on turbo (raise and flap their wings when they ran) but these birds would mosey. Not a great layer. Died early. However, the bird was friendly, never a pain - went to bed early, didn't require a personal invitation, never flew anywhere, never got stuck in a compromising position...
Compromising positions - I've had to extract the same guinea hen from between the duck house and the duck fence multiple times. Eventually I realized the bird wasn't going to learn and I had to move the duck house out further from the fence.
