The Old Folks Home

Whow, peri causing an MI. Gotta admit that I've never heard of that before.

Hopefully the tests will show what has happened and how to fix it. Tell him not to worry. I've been taking heart medicine since I was 25 years old, once again from the RF. You can live a nearly normal life with a heart condition. You just have to be careful of things like dental work and infections. In other words, learn how to take care of yourself.

chicka, sorry about your grandson. He's in my prayers. I hope they get it all sorted out, and he does fine.

Went to Dr. this morning, and my truck had to break down, blocking part of the off ramp, in the worst part of town. Usually it's not too bad in the daytime, but there were a couple homeless guys begging for money at that exit, that kept bugging me. I was a bit scared. A truck driver helped push it out of the way. I called Dh, and while I was waiting for him, I got it to start. Right near where I was, there was an Advanced Auto Parts store. I pulled into their parking lot. Not scary there. My mechanic will take his wrecker, and get it in the morning, then find out what the problem is. I even got to see the Dr.

My BO hen, Sassy's eye continues to improve. She held it open tonight and it doesn't look so swollen. We are still putting ganciclovir gel in it and it is still that shocking solid blue color but she is in good spirits and happily ate a whole slice of bread by herself on the way back to the coop.

My big disappointment was doing a count of the birds with ocular MD and I got up to 4. Sassy is the virtual twin hatch sister to Taffy and Taffy (Laughy Taffy as I call her) was one of my first hens to show Ocular MD. Incidental, they are both from a Feb 2016 hatch.

So now I have 4 with OMD. Oh well, I guess it could be worse and be regular Marek's. At least it is only in one eye on each bird and they all seem to be happy and otherwise health...well as healthy as any bird with Marek's can be.

@getaclue, that sounds like something that would happen to me. Only I would have just after 5 minutes of being harrassed for money said "Look! My 'bleeping' car just broke down and I don't have the money to get it fixed! How bout giving me a donation?"

The local Orscheln's has chicks. Ameraucanas Easter Eggers, Barred Rocks, Red production layers. I resisted. All I had to do was think about the gang of bantam roosters that is driving me out of what few functioning brain cells I have left and I was able to walk away after telling them all how cute they were. Guess I'm toughening up!

That is my understanding. Now for pictures to say, you need to upload them to an album
Sooo, like our own photo album on our computer? I guess that's ok..it's easy to down load them from there. I just have to remember where I put what. I've actually been trying to make folders for certain ... subjects. Man, didn't realize how many photos I've taken! What I really need to do, is get them on a disc or hard drive in case something happens to this computer. I do have some photos on my phone now. I've had my smart phone for about a yr. now. I think I am finally getting the hang of it. o_O ;)

Man, I was looking for some Red sex links yesterday...online..expensive!! So, back to hatching. I want some good layers to be starting in the spring, not me buying them from a feed store. Will be nice to have some fresh new layers then. You walked away from Red production layers? :th We all don't need the same thing do we? Wish I could keep bantams in the winter, but not roosters! lol
