The Old Folks Home

Hate to say this, but I'm still out my ears in cukes. And I did get a bunch of pumpkins, although the chickens already ate one.

Picked up my CSA this morning. I was a bit dismayed to see it had beets in it. I have never eaten a beet. It also contained "sunchokes" which I had never heard of. My GI tract does not really appreciate new things, so this should be interesting. It won't be tonight, because tomorrow is the day I'm stuck in a car with at least 3 other women, possibly 4, for an 8 hour road trip. Tonight's not the night to be adventurous. However, I figure @ronott1 has to have a recipe out there...
They are Jerusalem Artichokes!

Since you have digestion issues, be careful with them since they are high in fiber.
I would find a roasting recipe for them. You can also eat them raw--like in a salad

Here is a picture of myself and my neighbor ready to go shopping on Halloween. The ceramic pumpkins are all ones i made.

Set out a can of cat food somewhere where you can watch at a safe distance, lock up cats, sit back and wait for Pepe L' pew to make an appearance.

Be careful. Don't want to read that you are having to take a tomato juice and peroxide bath.

BF and I took the pistol out looking strongest smell is our office and the new coop but could not find any sign and of our 3 outside cats either.. will have to go the store get a small can of wet I never use it

Yes! Then they can be just as scatter brained as before...Chickens are so funny!

Cap do you have your own kiln?

I would LOVE to have my own kiln. I used to do ceramic art some twenty years ago and I would love to get back into it again. I had just started working with porcelain and really miss it, especially since I have three bows I need to glaze and fire right now.

Dropping turkeys from a plane...wasn't there a WKRP in Cincinnati episode about that? They dropped domestic turkeys out of a plane over a shopping mall. I keep remembering the line "Mr Carlton, I swear we thought turkeys could fly".:lau

It probably was on WKRP. Some do die from the drop. So sad. :hit

Yeah, if for real, poor birds. I really like turkeys. I won't let anyone hunt them on our property. We have a wild flock of about 30 that show up every winter foraging in our front yard.

There was another tv program that did a similar episode where they were throwing frozen turkeys out of a helicopter? Married with Children maybe? No, wait, that one was Santa Claus jumping out of a plane and forgetting his parachute.
