The Old Folks Home

I'm usually up by 7:30. If I'm not feeling well I may sleep till 9 but that is rare. DH is a morning person. I've never gotten over working second shift most of my career. Don't get revving until 8 at night to this day.

For tick protection I use Deep Woods Off and spray my clothing inside and out with Permetherin (hope I spelled that right) spray that I buy down at the local MFA. It's the same stuff they use in a lot of the dog topicals and livestock spray ons. They tell you not to use it directly on your skin but hey, your clothing is directly touching your skin. I told DH once that I would rather risk growing an extra arm or tail than risk getting Lyme again so I'm pretty intense when it comes to using Deet or Permetherin.

I switched back to my desktop computer for awhile. I'd been using my tablet so much that one day I went to use DH's computer and couldn't remember how to use the mouse. Duh....

I keep wanting to touch this screen to open stuff. :barnie Talk about teaching an old dog......

@Latestarter, your forecast looks pretty much like ours except the temps are going to be lower after the weekend rain. We set here this afternoon and watched the temp drop from 74 to 70 in 15 minutes. Temp is 69 now. I'm almost glad to see cooler temps. The unseasonable warm weather has brought out those nasty Japanese lady bugs. The ones that like to swarm around you when you go outside then have the audacity to bite you.:duc
I use deep woods off. Don't spray it on your skin!??
How else you going to protect yourself out bullhead fishing at night in a t-shirt and shorts from skeeters?
I never heard that before, guess I've never read the directions Lol!

I am with you on the Lyme! There are other bad tick illnesses out there now too.

@Beer can sounds like a solid plan but will it fly with the other
She's already hit the roof when I suggested I wasn't going/participating. I told her I don't work well with others. She said I bought a tube for a flat tire on my splitter, ???
I planned on dropping the splitter off so they'd have two, I ain't going...
Apparently she thinks I'm the only one who can rip with a saw safely, and out work them all. Exactly why I'm not going, I can't stand people watching me work, emphasise on WATCHING, not helping.
I'm figuring if I cut the pile up so nobody else has to, maybe she won't make me sleep in the doghouse for not being there for the crowd

72 degrees here right now. I just got home from town, grocery shopping Dollar General Run. You know, the important places. Life just screeches to a grinding halt without toilet paper and Pepsi:lau.

I do like the brown paint ida for the coop ceiling. Not only would it hide the comb blood smears but also the fly poop!

I've got a varmint tunneling under the shed so I stuffed bait in the tunnel and covered the areas with chicken wire and gravel followed by scraps of sheet metal and bricks to keep the birds from digging around it. I absolutely positively hate field rats.
We had a fight we them recently. I think they were actually even stealing eggs. I hate using poison but hate rats even more.

No no no, spray the deet on your skin, the permetherin on your clothes and accidentally on your skin, lol.

@penny1960 I love your avatar. The last year I was working clinical at Halloween I considered dressing up as the grim reaper but opted out when everyone reminded me how much paperwork I would have to fill out after all the old people woke up and saw the grim reaper standing over their beds with their pills in hand.

Beer can, you have our sympathy. Can you maybe chain the logs into rounds and then let somebody else run them through the splitter while you sit back and chill with a cold one in hand and laugh as they try to figure out how to operate the splitter without cleaving off a hand or foot? You can always keep a few rolls of duct tape handy to use as tourniquet material.

You guys would not believe how many times I have tried to scroll up or down the monitor with my finger......:he

I second your idea. Leave them the splitter and run.

Having a party so you can be miserable while they do nothing and you do everything is BAD.

If they truly manage to do nothing without you, then I am sure the wife will male you run by layer and do it.

Still have to remember to use the mouse for every other site. I only used my tablet for 4 months and yikes! It's like my whole brain has forgotten how to use the mouse~
I know! I go from left handed mice-trackpads-thumb track ball mice-mice set for right hand on left side of keyboard and an ergonomic one called a roller mouse. The roller mouse uses a bar that you roll forward and back then side to side....weird but the hand stays straight.

Then you get into tablets with touch screens and the windows laptops with touch screens. Shall we even consider macbook pros with the new touch bar? And why am I expected to now be an expert on both Android and Apple iPhones? Work does not provide either so I have to learn this stuff with my own phone and I refuse to buy both types....Why can our Faculty go to their phone provider like the rest of the World....

I have to work with several of these input devices on a daily basis at work. No wonder my mind is so fried by this time on Fridays....
