The Old Folks Home

This Super Moon is driving all the roosters crazy, and they're driving us a little nuts. It's like daylight outside, because of it. The roosters crow all night long. I keep getting up to see what's wrong, since they don't normally crow all through the night. They're waking Dh up too. Just going to mention that I love my .308

Hey Cap, grats on the new rifle... Ummm you said it was a 30.08... did you mean 30.06? I've never heard of a 30.08... That's a well represented round = very powerful, very accurate. I gave mine to my boy as a Christmas gift a few years back so he'd have one for elk hunting. :D Didn't mind too much... I much prefer my Weatherby 300 magnum :D

ETA: Y'all ladies need to stop smacking your heads! Even if you ARE looking for a little more common sense :duc:oops::gig
Yeah, i was never keen on numbers, you are right.
I bought the windows for the goat shed and they have been sitting around for ages. The contractor gets the money for materials, buys whatever he can find and spends the rest i think. Then he has to get another job to get money to buy more materials. What a hack.

Penny so sorry you hit your head. :hugs

Cap I would give them a dead line date! And tell them they have to get it done!
That is outrageous! They should have had it done already!
It does look good but they should finish in a timely manner.
Chicka i agree but hubby is in charge of this project. I refuse to get crazy about it. It is hard to motivate lazy slobs.

They still are not done filling the holes with concrete to keep the poles in place. That's why i call them slackers. Besides the fact they usually work 4 hours a day or less. Ridiculous!
Um, the poles aren't even permanently set and the are SLOWLY finishing the entire structure above it?? :th

At > $2/round, can't shoot that sucker too often!

The guy that jacked our prior house turned out to be like that. Of course his references gave him a good review. He took on more jobs than he could handle. Turned out he was on a "cash only" basis at one supplier and another called ME looking for payment. I said "NO, I already paid him". It took MONTHS for him to come back and pull the I beams that were supporting the plywood under the concrete garage floor (7' basement underneath) and fill in the holes. Every time it rained, mud came in the basement. You would THINK a guy would want his 30' beams.

Yep, i put in what little extra concrete i mixed and had left over from filling the ones they neglected to do on the porch. Next time i see him a plan to give him hell. Probably why he rarely shows up any more.

@bruceha200...the magic word is HANDLOADS! DH does handloads on just about every caliber we shoot. You can plink away to your hearts content without guilt and save your factory rounds for hunting and personal defense.

Just got in from securing the temporary tarp for the cockerel pen and fixing holes in the run cover netting. I have no doubts in my mind that it isn't going to survive the first winter storm of the season. I have two different types of net up. Tied string and nylon. The nylon is just crap. It sun rots so quickly. The hand tied is just chugging along so I know which type I'm going to buy next time.
