Al, do people up there put plastic over their windows to reduce draft?

I never heard of that until I moved here. Inserts are a more sturdy option than putting tape around your frame, putting plastic on it, then blow drying it. You build a wood frame that fits inside your window. You put heavy plastic on both sides of it, then finish it with foam around the edges so you can stick it in your window. It comes out in spring.

we buy double or triple pane windows that are sealed and filled in the middle with non-conductive gas.

Started sprinkling while I was out feeding the goats just before/at dark. I rarely believe these as I've been let down so often.
