Wind chill values of -20 to -35 are expected.
And AS USUAL you will be sending it to us the next day!!! DD2 used to do that when she was at Beloit College.

Supposed to be -11° Thursday at 7 AM, windchill -28°. About the same Friday. At least I don't have to go anywhere Friday. Except down to the barn. A lot. In case the girls decide that freeze your feathered butt off cold is a good time to lay. I'm giving serious consideration to putting the heating pad set on low in the community box. Of the girls that MIGHT lay, 3 use it. Cassie always uses one of the open boxes.

Thanks ever so much :smack
;)

Second one was a lot faster to make.
As is always the case. Too bad that an awful lot of what I make is a "one time thing".

That poor dog. 20 is our heat wave.

Left the snow we got Friday night on the ground. The ice we got yesterday was about a third of an inch and it was amazing to have the snow under it. Snowblowing it was strange had to break through then be careful the ice chunks didn't fly back atcha.

But it isn't slick on the ground now.

This is tonight.

Got the snowblower gassed up.

Just finished up our Christmas Eve dinner here. Roast turkey for me, roast beef for DH, rice, corn, fresh baked bread and pumpkin pie.

Our weather after tomorrow is pretty much abysmal also. Not a lot of snow but highs in the low teens and lows in the low single digits. I went out to check the birds and found two low ranking cockerels sitting out in the cold shivering. Gathered them up and put them in the hospital pen in the big coop for the night. Guess I'll have to move the extra cockerels back in the main coop until this cold spell breaks....packing peanuts so to speak.....then move the bigger bachelors into their coop so they can move around a little better.

My little bantam cockerels are just little tyrants. They are still beating the dirt out of any rooster larger than they are.

Everyone will be busy tomorrow as will we, so I will take this opportunity to wish everyone the best Christmas ever tomorrow.

I hope Santa is good to everyone!

to you too! And to everyone else as well!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! !!

The entire Northwoods area now has a Wind Chill Advisory in effect Monday morning until 12pm Wednesday. Wind chill values of -20 to -35 are expected.

How in the heck do you return a Christmas "gift" from Mother Nature???

You need to figure that out, and tell @superchemicalgirl too..

@bruceha2000 looks like he is also getting super cold temperatures.

Sooooo.... someone figure out the return policy, and get cracking. Perfect winter temps are 22 (well... if you HAVE to have cold  ) because then there is no ice, and the snow stays snow.

You live in a town settled by Vassals @superchemicalgirl?? That has to be pretty unique.
Glad you don't have ice down on the surface. As I recall your driveway would be 110% impassable if iced over.

I plan to blow snow about 10 AM, will likely be about 6" by then with the sleet on/in snow we have now plus what we get overnight. Then another 3" will likely fall after I'm done. That is passable with the cars. Given a choice, I'd rather not be blowing snow at night. I do have a light bar mounted on the blower housing but it is still a lot easier to see during the day. Plus the winds should be pretty light at 10 AM. They'll likely be up around 15 MPH when we get home from the in-laws.

Might need the snowshoes to get to the chickens and alpacas Tues AM though, the NW wind is likely to stuff a lot of snow between the barns. I can always go down through the barn from the drive bay instead.
