I've often thought that people who have to work in extreme conditions ought to get "hazardous duty" pay.

Morning everyone. Uggg. 16 degrees here this morning also but at least we don't have a lot of snow to deal with. Just a few inches on the ground. The weekend here isn't going to be pretty. They are calling for highs in the low single digits and Sunday night low of -13. Today they are calling for freezing drizzle and snow. It just isn't encouraging at all when you see hights of 2.

@Capricorn farm. Yes, I would love to have the silvadene if you are sure that you don't have any use for it. I'd be willing to buy it from you and pay for postage if you would like. That stuff is magic. Let me know and I will pm you my address. Thank you for the offer from both of us humans and Dingo.

I have a couple jars so just glad to have it used for a good cause. Pm me your addy, i will pack it up.

It's warmed up to negative 16 with the sun out this morning.

Sunday night low of -13.

I'm glad I don't live where it is cold like you two do!!! I only got down to -8°F this morning. Heat wave tomorrow, supposed to hit +5F.

heck we are at like +50 here but rarely get really cold we had snow for a day then back to rain have not had God call for a ark yet

It will be up above freezing here today. That wind was pretty chilly when i went out but was dying off when i came back in. Mule did not want to start but i did get it going. Rabbit waters frozen but the water in the solar heater thawed out. Both of my water heaters for the chickens are working well. Yay! Now to fix up some contraptions for the bunnies.

It's +21 here right now. I left the pop door open this morning and let the standard sized hens and roosters out. The last I saw, my lone speckled Sussex hen and a BO/Welly cross rooster were standing at the edge o\f the snow and looking at it like they are thinking "What are we supposed to do with that?!"

Of course the bantams are still saying. "No way, you cannot make us go out!"

They are still calling for -13 on Sunday night and a high of 2 on New Years Day. That looks like the worst of it. No heat waves, still some sub zeros but after next week things are looking slightly better here. What would make it worse is getting a boat load of snow right now......oh crap now I jinxed myself.

It's great here went up to 17 no breeze, and more snow, as soon as I clear it off, it's back. But my kind of temps for shoveling. Yippie!!
