The Old Folks Home

Sure is Cap, -10°F. Just got in from blowing all the snow that drifted in where I blew yesterday.

Why would anyone spray an herbicide on a crop they are about to harvest?? Where is the value in that? It isn't like the weeds are going to suddenly grow just before harvest is it??

nobody said everyone has common sense

They are spraying it on wheat to cause it to die and hasten it 'curing' before harvest. They are doing it in Canada where the growing season is only 100 days. That first link I posted explains it.

Penny, have you ever thought that the malithion may have lead to your Graves disease? 45 days in a O2 tent. Yowzers!

I really am glad that the boot studs worked for you. I'll get another chance to wear mine in the morning as they are calling for freezing rain in the morning. DH is glad his idea is catching on. He says, just make sure not to wear them on your good floors., LOL.

Cap, did the first dressing change since switiching Gingo over to Silvadene. Wound looks good and continues to close. Considering the depth of it, I'd say it's about a third of the way closed. I can't see tendon sheathe any longer and it's a lot less painful. Still about a half an inch plus oval shaped so it has a way to go but we are glad he's more comfortable. The second wound is on it's way to being completely healed in a day or two.

We are so grateful.

No, not sardines.....fried SMELT!:drool Sardines nasty. Fried smelt Good!

That is one of those delicacies I can remember from growing up. Mom buying a big bag of fresh well, fresh for central IL smelt during the smelt run and fry them for dinner along with a skillet of fried potatoes. She'd roll them in seasoned flour fry them up crisp and we would oink out. They tasted nothing like sardines.

Something terribly wrong about that. Obviously not "Roundup Ready" wheat.
