Be careful in the Ice!

I drive roads with speed limits from 45-60 mph on my morning commute.... I just barely touched 40 once, drove 25-35 the rest of the way.... Only slid bad once, and that was because a city bus stopped to pick someone up halfway down a hill, I wasn't going fast, or even the speed limit (30 on that road) but as soon as I touched my breaks the car locked up, so I just went (intentionally) off the side of the road and used the grass and dirt to get stopped, once the bus got out of the way I just eased back into the road and went about business.

It's weird, all of the roads that they brined (in case it's not a universal practice, they make a salt water mix and spray it onto the roads before any winter weather with the idea that it will melt everything off on contact rather than the old practice of waiting for snow and then putting down salt or gravel) turned into ice sheets this time, the ones that they didn't treat have snow, but they have traction because it's NOT ice...

Dang it, Bruce! Here I am, thinking I'm all 007 or Secret Squirrel, or something, and not only did SCG know who sent the gift without a return address, but you knew as well. I am going to have to start being less predictable.

Ah, don't feel badly about it double naught 7! I don't remember a lot of things but I do remember that you, SCG and @dsqard are BFFs. Only a BFF would know to wrap a present for SCG in that way. It was merely a lucky, very semi educated guess.

Are you going to grace us with your presence a bit more in the future? Haven't seen you posting for some time.

The surgery will be robotic... Di Vinchi Orthoscoptic for the most part. Irony is When I worked at Cardinal Health I did some drawing modifications for Di Vinchi when it was in its developmental stages.

Just helping your future self Deb! I hope the surgery goes well and quickly, we'll see you Friday. Who knows, you MIGHT be lucid if you don't take too many pain meds.

A little weather video from up here. The problem with big thaws is ice dams and the resultant flooding. This is an area DW drives through to get to work 6 days a week. She had to take the southern route yesterday. Monday, being MLK day, was a federal holiday or she would have gone south then as well. Yes there is a road there, if you know where to look. At at about 58 seconds in, believe it or not, there are some falls just past the bridge. At least there are when the river isn't flooded and ice jammed.
