Morning all and Happy Valentines day.
Kind of a windy, dreary day here so far but at least it's 41 degrees outside. I was going to run into town today but I have so much to do here that I think I'm putting it off till tomorrow. I mainly need to pickup feed and make a hardware store run, but I have chicken feed to last till tomorrow and nothing that is really that urgent at the hardware store. I've been trying to work on getting mopboards down for almost two years now. Every time I get the wood in we seem to use it for different projects other than what it is intended for.
I"m also on the look out for a used upright dresser. I want to convert one into a chick brooder. I've seen several made that I really like and I wouldn't have to set my koroplast brooder in the utility sink any longer. DH used to do a lot of photography and has all the stuff from back when you did your own developing and enlarging and the like in your own dark room. One of the left overs from that era is a huge sink that he used to rinse prints once they were done developing. The thing is about 2+feet wide and 4+feet long. We hooked it up and now it is a shallow utility sink. I can sit my brooder in one end of it. I have water handy for the babies and very little mess that makes its way to the floor as the sink catches it all. We don't use it as a sink while the babies occupy it but having the sink tied up for 5 weeks is a bit of a pain so I'm looking for an upgrade and hoping to find one at the local Amish General store where they sell just about anything, or the local Salvation Army.
