The Old Folks Home

Glad I pulled the bantam eggs from my little wanna be broody. She never went back to the nest. After 5 days of thinking about it, three days of sitting on porcelain eggs like they were made of gold, that's it for her, thank you very much now where's my regular spot on the roost.:rant:he

At least now they have a fighting chance.

Gotta casserole popped in the oven for dinner. Aren't casseroles great? Don't know what to fix for dinner? Pound of whatever chunk of frozen meat you can grab first in the freezer, rice, a veggie, a can of mushroom soup, throw it in a corning ware casserole, throw some corn flakes and cheese on top of it and after 30 minutes in the oven ya got dinner.

Got my HAM Radio license today.:celebrate Mainly got this to talk on our walkie talkies so DH and I have been gabbing all day whenever I went up to the coop. Too much fun.

Congrats way to go, dinner sounds great, you're right through everything into 1 pot cook, house smells delicious :lovehey glad you're on the mend

I did have to wash them had wet paper towel in them and egg white and yolk

if they got covered in egg goo and had to be washed ... your hatch rate will be way down, UNLESS you then disinfect them...

@ronott1 do you remember what it is? Citric acid, or bleach. ..or what is it again?

Supposedly whatever egg wash it is will actually increase hatching rates. :hu

Either one works. Make sure to use a weak bleach solution--That is something like a tablespoon of bleach in a gallon quart of water

After all I went through buy the Marans eggs to hatch 3 where broke beyond
so letting eggs rest the 9 left put them in day after tomorrow
Sorry you lost some. Seems few are very successful shipping hatching eggs without some breakage and scrambling. :(

No wonder, the way things are handled when shipped? Have you ever seen videos? Stuff goes on conveyor belts and falls like 5 feet into bins!
