The Old Folks Home

You have to wonder who's brain is engaged when they put stuff like that in the truck. Figure some people will just take it and not complain?

I have waited years for a kitchen remodel. And we can do it. I don't want yard sale cabinets or I would go to a yard sale and get them.

Well, I guess so, if you are willing to pay your friends to "buy" the sink from you. ;)

I guess I need a :smack Thanks. :lau

chicka, so sorry you had that problem. It's so frustrating when you're excited, expecting new stuff, and something comes damaged, not to mention how it delays everything. I hope they can deliver one that is not damaged, so everything matches. If not, you may have to have them take back all the cabinets, so you can get them all to match.

Thanks Clue.
I don't have any right now. They took back the damaged one and they did not even bother to bring the other one.
The problem is we have help arriving Sat. morning to help do the plumbing. I NEED the sink base by Sat! So I can have my plumbing fixed and put in!

How frustrating paying for a new kitchen getting damaged goods They would here my Bitch mode megs style let me at em, let at me at em

Thanks Penny.
I was nice but told the delivery guys no way was I paying for that!
I hope dh gets off early enough to go get this sorted out tomorrow.
They only had one sink base on the shelf and I hope they have another one in stock.
Or I will loose my cool.

Do you have a farmers association anywhere near you, Drumstick? You might also try Jefferspet.com. I just looked on their site and they have One Bite.

Thanks Chicka. I can't say that I blame you. When we bought our last stove they dropped the carton loading it into our van. Sure enough, got it home, opened it up and the oven door handle was creased and bent. Called the company and they sent us a new one but still was a pain.

Your stove must have been gas.

If they would have dropped my electric glass cook top stove I would have told them to get me another one right then. I would not have taken it home. To afraid it would have a short circuit or something else wrong with it.

if you all recall the first new gas stove here started a fire gas all over the place James grabbed the extinguisher and killed the flames when I called where we bought it they asked to give them 24 hours brought out a better with 5 burners convection oven as we had bought a plain jane we are not rich hooked it up and tested love it wanted 2 ovens
settled for one

I was at a rummage sale once and heard a little 'older' Italian lady with a thick accent arguing with the woman who was having the sale about the price of an item.

'Iffa I wanta NEW I go to the mall and buy it at Bergner's! Iffa I wanna buy cheap, I go to a rummage sale. Thissa not cheap! Thissa Bergner's prices!'

I never did find out if she talked the woman down on the price. I was laughing so hard I had to walk away.

But I don't blame you one bit, Chicka. A new kitchen doesn't happen all that often in a woman's life.

No, actually it's a cook top electric. How they managed NOT to break the glass top was beyond me but they didn't.

I priced a top for it recently. Last year I was making jelly and when I lifted my kettle, the handle failed slopping hot jelly on the glass. Y'all know what happens to tempered glass when hot sugar gets on it? Man was I steamed. The glass didn't break but it pitted. I looked up the price of the replacement. Something like 360$, more than half the price of the whole danged stove. :thDH and I were able to polish out most of the pitting. Now it looks well loved and broken in.:love
