Put my freakshows into lockdown today - hatch is supposed to be Monday, hoping for some Sunday so I can watch it.
Craptastic week here and I've got over a foot of snow to deal with tonight.
Enjoy those Meds!Morning all and thanks to Misty for her early morning pick me up.
You don't know how much I look forward to seeing your good morning post!
What we all have to realize is that while it seems as though a good percentage of us are facing health problems is that we are baby boomer and a bigger group of tough old birds never existed.
I keep remembering the people I took care of at the nursing home where I worked in central IL. While yes, it's harder to do what I want to do (walked around this morning with my pick up stick retrieving things off the floor), and I'm more dependent on medications that I would rather not be taking in order to function at an acceptable level, I'm no where near as bad off as they were.
DH, bless him just finished mopping the floor for me and we sit and figure out ways to do what needs to be done around the farm with the least amount of physical activity and exertion. We were talking about a project that we have down in the basement that is going to take some bags of concrete mix to accomplish and DH asked how we were ever going to manage getting those 80 pound bags down in the basement. I reminded him that we have a strapping young Christian family that moved in next to us and the husband stressed that if ever we needed help we were to ask. I told DH that God put that family there for a reason and we would be fools if we didn't ask him to help us when we needed it.
We are both so independent though that asking for help is hard on us, but that prideful pain only lasts for a second or two.
Sorry for rambling. Guess the meds are kicking in, LOL.
I am feeling better today. I was able to be on my feet for almost two hours before feeling the pain in my hip and back. Getting ready to go out and let the birds out.
Hope you are all hanging in there.
@superchemicalgirl, I love your description of your incubating eggs as being a freak show.
My four eggs go into lock down either Saturday night or Sunday morning. I may just candle and mark air cells tomorrow night and lock them down then. They look about one day ahead of the 21 days which means I may be seeing pips as early as Monday. My Brinsea tends to run about 99.9 right now to 100. Need to re-calibrate after this hatch. But hey! It works!
