The Old Folks Home

Just saw new Ehal contest Ron, farthest shipped eggs, be interesting to see how far those buggers travel.
@Alaskan didn't you get your Spitz eggs from NY? Now that's a long ways lol.
We used to run this one. They can be shipped very far in Australia

Any even passable forger could create those "documents," seals and all - I agree, having the forms in hand only proves that someone has those forms in hand, not that they are who they say they are.

"I generate paperwork, therefore, I am."?:th
A lady at work is actually fighting with the Social Service department because her husband was supposed to be getting a packet of forms to fill out, they got a packet in the mail, and lo and behold, it has someone else's stuff in it... All information about this random guy is in the packet that was mailed to them... And, this is the 2nd time that they have received someone else's personal information... The envelope was even addressed to her husband, just the stuff inside wasn't his... Makes you wonder where the packet HE was supposed to get went.... Apparently they want her to mail the packet back to them at HER cost because they screwed up. I told her she should get the address from the paperwork and send it on to the guy it belongs to along with a note stating that they received it and looked through it before realizing it wasn't theirs... Then HE can start yelling at them for their incompetence as well.

Not all POs (in fact I don't know the percentage) can take passport photos, call first if you aren't sure. I THINK maybe only the big PO in Burlington can do it. Certainly no ability in the smaller towns. You can get them at places like AAA

in my podunk you can do all of the passport stuff at the post office including the photo.

Morning all and Happy Spring!

Yep, that is where DH and I had our pictures taken. At the Post Office. It's just as stated. Somebody new was working and being super critical. My picture for my original passport turned out with my cheeks being really red like I had blobs of rouge smeared on them. No problem. They accepted it.

I think it's borderline criminal that there are states that will give ID/drivers licenses to illegal entry individuals but make naturally born citizens jump through hoops.

One day back in IL I was looking up information on line for an patient who had IDPA to verify coverage. I stumbled onto a site that was state sponsored that explained what it took to get medicaid coverage if you were an illegal entry alien. Virtually nothing. You didn't need an ID didn't need a SS number, no worries you were eligible for approximately 5,000 dollars a month including medical care for a family with 5 children. Link, the state's food assistance program wasn't included in that total. I kept the window open and went to another window to find what I was looking for and when DH was done with the patient I showed him the site. He was astounded. I mean, no wonder IL is in debt up to its armpits. We copied off a few pages of the information and when we retired and moved something happened to them. We went back to find the site and it was gone. Imagine that!

So having to supply a state with 6 forms of ID is just over the top. I can see two. I think we need that just to change our licenses to MO from IL, our old license and proof of residency. But anything else is over the top.

I had to drive to the "big city" post office to get mine.

I left the form on my door today, signed, but BF's mom got here before UPS did, thought it was a new slip and brought it inside for me.

However, she did do my dishes, took care of the dog and the baby chick... so I'll let it slide.

Seems like a lot of work to get the Passport!
