didn't catch any fish today, chickens helped with weeding, made a mess!

Considering the lack of sleep last night I managed to get quite a bit done this afternoon. I moved the grow out coop from the shop to the hobby room, took down a shelf so I could slide it against the wall. Got it put back together and moved the 4+ week old SWD chicks into it. The 1 1/2 month olds went into the SWD's brooder where they immediately huddled in a corner with cuddle monkey and acted like it was the end of the world as they know it. The older chicks are happily digging around and trying to figure out the intricacies of a ramp and a real coop.

Our weather here has been wet and cold all day. Temp never made it out of the 30s. which is why the 4+week old chicks are in the grow out coop and the grow out coop is in our hobby room and not outside.

Cap, what animal is going to be blessed with the lean to? I have a pile of wood, a roll of hardware cloth, bags of nails and screws not to mention pneumatic nailers. Anytime you get bored and run out of projects there.........

That is quite a bit to do in one day!

Did the Dog help?

She is always in the middle of my projects. Waiting for me to take a break and throw her stick so she can fetch it. Over and under obstacles, through rose bushes, nothing stops her. She will even fetch in the dark. Finds it by smell!

Wow, you did get a lot done!
The lean-to is for rabbits. In case i actually get some goats! Plus i can feed and water in there without getting wet! It will be 14'x8', would have gone bigger but there are trees in the way.

The back of the goat barn, where the lean-to will be built. Using 4x4 posts set in concrete. Its not going anywhere! It will be darker in the barn, but it has lights if needed and 4 other windows.

Oh and i would love to help you with projects but i doubt i will run out of my own. Once it started raining, i went into the workshop. Put up another sheet of paneling. Started a bunny tractor. These guys are going to need more space soon!

I am making lentil soup tonight with the fresh bread. The chicken is for Monday but I want to get it cut up into pieces to marinade it overnight on Sunday.

Tomorrow is southwestern stew--I am very excited to try it

Can I move into your basement?

My neighbors are a riot. Several of them have commented to Dh that they admire how I get up every morning and tend my chickens, rain or shine. Then they commented that they LOVE that on cold mornings, I go out in my fuzzy pajamas, and heavy housecoat, with my rubber boots. Almost all of them walk their dogs first thing in the morning, which is how they saw me. Apparently, they've all wanted to stay in their robes, fuzzy pj's, and slippers for that first, early morning walk, but felt uncomfortable doing so, and would get dressed. Now, they're all walking up, and down my driveway road with their dogs, sporting robes, pj's, and slippers. I'm a fashionista!

our snow is gone we had this morning now just wet BF went took 4 walking stone set them two outside the mud of the coop to the door then two more where it gets so

I love it. I usually go out wearing my fleece lounge pants-the more garish the better-this morning they were red with white polka dots and little black Scottie dogs on them. And a heavy lined hoodie. If it is mucky like this morning, muck boots. Usually by the time I'm at the hydrant, filling water jugs, the Amish buggies are trundling by taking the kiddies to school. I always tell DH I'm giving them something to gossip about when they have their quilting get togethers. I always make sure to wave.

Cap those bunnies are outgrowing their basket.

Got the crop impaction treatment today. Was surprised to see that it was good old Dulcolax stool softeners. Really super fast service from Twin Cities Poultry Supply. I wasn't expecting them till Monday. So I dragged poor little Speckles from her roost kicking and screaming, massaged her crop, which amazingly was about half it's original size but she still had breath that could stop a train so I popped one down her. She is such an obliging little hen. Pop anything in her mouth and she will obediently swallow it down.

SGC, your little puppy isn't such a little puppy any more! Such a pretty girl.
