The Old Folks Home

So Clue, that "flip" cover... never seen one and the pic doesn't really show it well... is it a side attached flip or top/bottom? How does it stay closed? is it magnetic or velcro or... ? I'm not particularly hard on phones, but the thought is intriguing. I have an otterbox on my S6, but it's just a "stretch on" hard case with a wet and stick screen protector.

Good update!

Will you get a tattoo for aiming the radiation?

And people like the flat screen as opposed to the curved screen of the Galaxy 8. My best friend from school got the 7 specifically because of that.

The price was the same for the 7 and the 8 for us, so we all went with the Galaxy 8.
Haven't dropped it...yet. :fl

We bought the Otterbox rugged cases for the last phones and again for these phones. We carry them in all the equipment and they stand up to the rougher conditions. But the cases don't protect the curved screens that well. I prefer the flat screens myself. ;)

I give the Galaxy 8 two thumbs up. It's been less glitchy than the S5. I also like the ability to keep it 'optimized' with a couple clicks where it cleans itself out and puts unused apps to sleep. I do miss a couple of things from the other phone. But overall I like this one the best.
Thanks for the review!

Of all the phones I've ever owned, I love the S8. I got mine first, since my old one broke first, then when Dh's phone bit the dust, he had seen me with mine, and knew I really like mine, which is unusual, so he got one for him, and one for my daughter. They both love their phones too. He got Otterboxes for theirs, because they're both hard on phones. The original screen protector broke immediately on both phones, so Otter sent new updated screen protectors. No problems since the new ones were put on.

I opted for this case, and really do like it: https://www.amazon.com/Plus-DStores...=1522162259&sr=8-4&keywords=s8+clearview+case
My current phone is an LG G5. It is on a list of under rated phones LOL. I can't remember the last time it had a glitch.

It is running android 7

Try this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...y-s8-s-view-flip-cover--black-ef-zg950cbegus/ OR this one: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsun...msung-galaxy-s8-black/5806017.p?skuId=5806017

It doesn't have a magnet, or velcro to stay closed, and you wouldn't want it. The way it's molded, it doesn't really open without me opening it. I can answer the phone with the case cover closed, read notifications, tell the time, temp, etc. Mine is set to black screen after a few minutes. Just open the case, and the phone is totally active. To make a call, I open the case, open contact list, call, then close the cover. To let the kids watch a movie while in the car, I open it up on the stand, and put on the movie. It's not for everyone, but I really like it.

Just talked with wally world today about their cellular plans. Presently with sprint unlimited talk/text and 2 gigs data/month for ~$55. I'm on an S6 and starting to get screen shadows. They offer the s7 for $399, month to month, no contract, same plan as what I have now, for $35/mo using Verizon towers. Need to call sprint before this next bill is due and see what they have to offer. I do NOT want to lease, and prefer to stay with Samsung. No desire for an "I" anything.

Go get 'em Deb! :thumbsup

here we are technically with sprint getting the galaxy 7 perx for 129.00 boost never had a contract been with then for 8 years Boost was the pay as you go arm of Nextel Started at 50.00 a month unlimited talk, text and data they offered a shrinkage 5.00 dollars a month every 6 month you pay on time
Now at 40.00 a month all in

Saved it in Amazon's our list will order it first of the month now

We have Verizon, giving up US Cellular due to the reception problem. It'sit better and is supposed to be the best for remote areas but no matter who we talk to they tell us that we are on the 'fringe'
We are VERY fringe. Verizon tower on the other side of the hill. Can get texts IF the phone is sitting in the proper window. Signal just skips over our road.

I am good for now. And I hope to pop in at times.....

Please do, we all NEED to know that things are moving along as opposed to ASSUMING they are :hugs

may christen the CT Scan table....LOL.
I will bet you won't be even close to the first!

As for phones, we used ours a lot when were were actively retiring and shuffling back and forth between Missouri and IL. Not so much now so we have a low data plan that still costs us 65$ a month. We only use it when we are waiting in Drs' offices waiting room or DH is waiting in the car for me.
We are happy with our $65/YEAR stupid phones (TracFone). Only DW uses enough minutes to even think about getting more each year. The phones we have cost between $0 and $20.

Can't get weather on a GPS but they cost WAY less than a smart phone to buy and cost nothing after, free map updates for life. DD1 needed one for the car DW's parents gave her. Unlike the other 3, it doesn't have built in Nav. It is probably better, Toyota's Nav is kinda sucky and they want your first born for map updates (with no info on what has changed), I doubt many people buy updated map DVDs.

Sprint owns Boost, Boosts format has always been 50 unlimited but taxes added then they did the shrinkage still at 40 paid 45 with taxes recently said no more fees added 40 all in Sprint had it's big money plans but loosing customers as they started dropping fees more to Boost size others had to follow 20 thousand customers at 99.99 a month
or 75 thousand at 50.00 maybe Boost was pretty smart all along (nextel)
