The Old Folks Home

Some of the cities we travel to got hit pretty badly with tornado damage. Lucky us, we got a few inches of rain, which we needed. River came up about 5 feet!
Today i sold some keets. Then i went and bought concrete, mixed and poured it. So that part is done! 20180416_171841.jpg

Had Black beans from El Pollo Loco... Oh mY Gawd they were good.

I love black beans and corn bread. I cook them in my pressure cooker.

White here too, from yesterday. Then freezing rain and really crunchy snow. 39° now, snow and ice sliding off the roof.

Spring will come, right?
RIGHT??
if you keep your eyes closed for long enough... yes! :old

Nice job on selling the keets!

I read the tornado damage and saw tomato blight...we have tomato blight here so I hope the tomatoes I started will be resistant to it

Nothing fancy here for dinner tonight. I cooked all afternoon yesterday, meatloaf, homemade bread and white bundt cake. So tonight it was Banquet pot pies and homemade apple sauce. I really need to use up last years apples to make room for this year's crop. It seems as though we used a lot more applesauce than last year.

I took a nap this afternoon so I'm feeling a tad better.

Hey @perchie.girl How ya be feelin?

I can remember my mom telling me about one of my brother's friends who was a bit of a dim bulb so to speak. They had a school project and the boy's mom did it for him. When the grades came out the teacher wrote 'Billy-C Mom-A. I think they got the message.

That was a great teacher IMHO.

Not tomato, TORNADO! Like head for the basement...

Must depend on where you are... our pinewood derby was this past Saturday..... looked like only one dad ... uh... "took over". All of the other cars were either clearly mostly kid, or a parent and kid team up. I don't think anyone had bought anything to spruce up the cars. Except for paint... I think everyone just used what came in the box. We had a graphite station for all cars entering the race. Dunno... Alaska tends to be low key on lots of stuff.
:yesss:

What is the world coming to when the kids do what they are supposed to and the parents keep their "it must be perfect and I'll do a better job than the kid so the other parents will be impressed" mitts off? ;)
