The Old Folks Home

anxious... Wendesday I start radiation. Three thirty PM till when ever bout an hour I suspect... Treatment is about 15 minutes getting dressed and undressed and situated on the table will take up the rest of the time.

I am hoping my appetite will be suppressed some.

I have one tattoo that disappeared. They may have to find it and redo it... No biggie.

Maybe if they have to redo the tat you can ask for a blazing star. ;)

@Latestarter, you sound like me complaining about my roosters. I have two, a Buff O and a Welsummer who are the low ranking roosters. One is suffering from ocular Marek's and the other was severely injured in a stats fight and while he recovered, he completely lost his nerve and never regained his standing in the flock. The latter is a sweet rooster that I love to pieces and the other is a PITA like your buck.

They recently have taken up sleeping in the nesting box at night, the one with OM not able to get up on the roost by himself and the other not allowed to get up by the alpha rooster. If I don't get the eggs gathered early they are stomping them flat. I didn't get out until 7 tonight to gather eggs and when I reached in the rooster with Ocular Marek's latched onto the back of my hand and bit me soundly. I cuffed him soundly and told him he was lucky I couldn't reach the pocket knife I was carrying.

Like I said. I gots too many roosters.

I've got no qualms about eating my extra roosters. I'm like the lady I know who said, I can raise my hens, I can eat my hens, I just refuse to butcher my hens. I helped my mom butcher birds for the freezer when I was 9 years old. I helped her pluck and watched while she gutted. Got my first anatomy lesson watching her point out different organs to me and showing me how the gizzard worked. I don't doubt that if the need arose I would and could do the job. At this moment in time, I have to be honest and admit that I just don't want to go tripping down that memory lane at this particular moment in time.

I hope you are able to stand the radiaton without too many problems!

How will they find the tatoo? Will there be a fain marks still?
Oh they will find it.... It should be very faint still on my hip. I just cant see it...

It was pretty cool when they put it on... Nothing like a needle prick... I think the blue just submerged under myskin.... Probably a bright light will show it up. my dim eyes cant see it...

Good luck to you on your treatment ! Thinking positive thoughts!

So I got a surprise this morning when I went out to milk and do chores. My final doe had a single kid early this morning. It's a doeling, & my kidding season is now over. I have 5 new boys, five new girls, and more than doubled the size of my herd. The baby hasn't nursed yet but was all cleaned off and mostly dry and momma was being very watchful. Once it's able to get to its feet, I'm sure it will nurse. I'll be watching over things for the remainder of the day.
