The Old Folks Home

We bought a expensive rose bush and planted it by the garage. Later that yr we bought two more on sale half dead, they actually grew better than the first one lol. A red a pink and a orange. DW made me plant them with fish in the hole cause that's what her grandma did.
They all flowered the first yr and grew pretty good last yr.

Some years I fiddle with the roses at pruning time, but most years they're lopped off somewhere between 12-18" tall. There's somewhere around 25-30 rose plants here and I, too, just cannot devote too much care to them. The nice thing about roses is you could use a chainsaw and they'll still come up. Mine need to thrive on careful neglect. They get one dose of Rose Care (all-in-one rose food) and good wishes.

I am just spread too thin this year, so it feels like everything is just getting half-@ssed maintenance. Need those minions stat!
You have me beat on rose care! I just prune them.

Hi everyone. Been busy here.....fighting drought conditions. Yesterday it got to 92 and still no measurable rain....we just get a tease now and then. It rains then high pressure moves over and in 48 hours all moisture is gone again. Fortunately this year we are fighting back with an overhead irrigation system.....and plenty of mulch.
Al, I am hearing slightly more crickets these days, albeit the increase is less than last year. I believe the high doses of vitamin C seems to have slowed the progression. Instead of losing my hearing in 20 to 30 years it will be 30 to 40 years. I get to enjoy the music a little while longer......

Microchick, your DH's tractor is a nice one. My tractor is a '81 Kubota L245DT. Alas, my wife doesn't think it's sexy......

Ahem....I must confess, that I got the bantams for my wife on her birthday. Well it seemed that I ended up with birds.....that's what I get for thinking. Yesterday she , ahem ....reclaimed them. Oh well.....what the wife wants is what the wife gets........
What handguns did you get?

Beautiful Rose's Misty.

Cap your irises are beautiful.

The squirrels are or hauled off my purple iris. The white are starting but I cannot walk out there to get a pic.
My right hip is making it it difficult to walk. I'm hobbling on my cane right now.
Hoping you feel better soon!

Take care of that hip, Chickadoodles!

Yeah, I really do think tractors are sexy, LOL! The Iseki is a little beast of a tractor. It doesn't look like much but it has earned it's oil more than once around the farm. What you are seeing on it now is the finishing mower, DH does have a brush hog that it will pull without breaking a sweat. It's cleared many a field for us. It's only down is that it has turf tires mounted on it which works well for mowing but not so well for pulling anything

Our other tractor is a Mahindra 3510, four wheel drive, big bucket-6 foot but surprisingly easy to drive. Power steering, knobby wheels. We use it to haul wood destined for fuel and it drags 10 foot lengths of logs up ravines for us with surprising ease.

Here I am learning to drive it. I look so serious, LOL but was really concentrating.

This was taken about a year after we bought the house. The front is completetly different now and we have electricity now, LOL. Doggo's in the picture, well part of him is, better days for him. He was only about 2 years old at the time and completely unstoppable.
