Yes, @Beer can that is tough:hugs. We are facing that with our Cattle dog who has degenerative Myelopathy. I Do want the vet to do it but I do not want us to take him there when the time comes.I want Dingo to be here on the farm he loves with the grass that he loves to roll in beneath him and us with him. I'm sure the vet will come here for us when the time comes.

@ronott1, @CapricornFarm, @MrsMistyReal, @penny1960, @getaclue, @bruceha2000, Thank you all so much for your kind words.

I went out and spent some time with my small bird flock. Amazing how funny it can be to just take a shovel and dig up dirt in their run and watch them scramble for bugs.

Then to top off a truly crappy afternoon, I decided to mow and in the act of mowing tall grass on the pasture side of my run, I mowed over a rabbit nest. Killed to bunnies. One is still in the nest and two were hopping around the bachelor pen with the birds screaming in terror. Gawd, gimme a break. They are about the size of month old bantams, poor little things. I caught them and put them in the tall grass and stopped mowing. DH said they were still screaming when he went out with the dogs. Brave birds.

Yes, DH has helped me in the past with euthanasia. I just feel that it is my responsibility. They know me better than they do him. I'm sure he would do it for me if I asked it's just it's bad enough for me to feel lousy. No need for both of us to be depressed.
