The Old Folks Home

I'm on the warpath, hunting. Chipmunks have dug up and stole half of the Indian corn and giant sunflowers I planted
Super PO'd
Had the same problem with striped ground squirrels. Tried the bucket of death, tried traps, tried poison peanuts. The only thing that worked was a scoped .22 rifle. A scoped .17 really makes them go splat never to be seen again.

I don't know how many I took out one summer when they overflowed the cemetery next door to us in IL and invaded the yard. When I cleaned out the yard I went to work on the cemetery. People probably thought I was a nut case hiding behind tombstones waiting for them to pop their heads out of their burrows.

DH could always tell what kind of day I had enjoyed at our office when I got home and without a word went inside and grabbed the .22, came outside and headed for the fir trees that lined our property. He'd just chuckle and tell me to have fun. Have to admit getting rid of those little garden destroyers was a great stress reliever for me. Kinda tough on the ground squirrels............

For those wondering if the Artificial Disc Replacement is any good, when you go to a doctor that is skilled with it, it is fantastic. Beats the heck out of the fusion method, and the down time is minimal by comparison.
I wondered about disk replacement!

My Dh's Dr. Did not even mention artificial disk replacement as an option. I wonder why. He gave dh the option to use his hip bone or cadaver bone with a mixture of plaster. With screws and plates.
Which is a fusion. Right?
He's suppose to be the best we have in Alabama.
I wonder how she could get disk replacement here?

@MrsMistyReal and @chickadoodles, Prayers going out for your DH's and you. So much going on. Hope all is well with others. While reading, saw that someone is in need for neck/spine surgery. Had that done years ago. Worked out well. I couldnt do anything with my left arm but keep it up, so as to keep pressure off of that nerve, causing pain and my arm going numb. When I woke up after surgery, I remember thinking...my arm is down...it isn't numb!! What a relief. :)

Thank you Cynthia.
When dh had his neck surgery his arms were going numb and hurt. Now that it's his lower back
His legs are hurting him so badly it drives me crazy that I can't do anything to help with the pain.
And he won't take pain meds.
He does not want to get addicted like so many do.
