The Old Folks Home

Sympathies to all suffering from hand pain. My right hand is a mess. I'm semi ambidextrous thanks to my years as an OB scrub nurse but primarily rt handed. I'm noticing that I'm automatically using my left hand more than my right when it comes to picking up small objects, etc. If I spill pills on the table, I can't pick them up with my right hand any longer. At least not all at once in one swoop like I used to. I still am fighting the nodules on my middle finger on my right hand. DH says it's because I'm using it too much to flip people the bird....ha ha......not. I see the rheumatologist in August so we shall see what he has to say.

Thinking of baking zucchini bread tomorrow. Yes, it's that time of the year again when everyone is flooded with zukes. I planted two plants and have been enjoying sauteed and baked zucchini for the past week.

@CapricornFarm, you should see my white pumpkin and warty red squash plants! Those plants are vining everywhere and have invaded the orchard. DH and I were repositioning vines today when we were mowing the lawn. When I pulled one vine out of the ground where it had rooted I saw little baby white pumpkins on it!:clap I'll see if I can get a picture of them tomorrow.
Awesome!

Sweet dreams everyone:cool:

My son just got a job on the Midway. Its a museum here. only a month there and he is quickly absorobing the terminology.... and learning how to navigate the museum... Most of the carrier is still there so some areas are polished up and safety rigged for tourists but there are a few places he was warned not to go with out a partner.... I was fascinated to find out it was the last Diesel..... :th

Handsome dude in your pictures.

Your son's so lucky, I bet he's having lots of fun there.. The Midway is old, but has a history, pretty much like it's namesake.. Thanks for the compliment, old.. old..:love

So.... You HAVE to go back to Portugal.... no question
It's on the bucket list for when I win the powerball or megamillions... I'd hope/want to fly to those places on my personal Gulfstream ;) Can get a nice used G-550 circa 2006 used for ~$12-13 million. Since they're about $50 mil new, I see that as almost a steal! Someone else already paid the depreciation and I'll have a 20 thousand hour+ capable jet with 3-5 thousand hours (or less!) on it. I'd most likely want to take a few friends along for the ride. ;) Know anyone who might want to tag along? I'm sure I'll have lots of friends if I win...

I also remember quite a few little mom & pop eateries in what WAS the armpit of the Mediterranean (late 70s into the 80s); Naples, Italy. Home of the US Sixth Fleet. Spent a few port of calls there when aboard the Kennedy. Course there were designated areas one was forbidden to go to and of course that's exactly where many of us ended up going... Tell a sailor where NOT to go and you've just sealed that sailor's doom... :gig
