I don’t know! I was woken up by the sounds of a chicken squawking and ran outside and half of my flock was missing. The door to the run was still closed. My roosts are pretty high. There were some feathers in the run and some in the yard, but the chickens were gone. I could hear them screaming out in the woods but I couldn’t get to them. Five gone. Including my Boo Boo who was sitting on eggs

I didn’t check for footprints. But I will in the morning. I sat out on the porch for an hour to see if whatever it was would come back, but nothing. Sitting inside now, covered in mosquito bites and crying into a glass of bourbon

I’m going outside to look for footprints and check on them again. I’m afraid that whatever it was will come back for the rest of my girls. Even got my poor rooster.

Oh Shrit .... Hopefully they took off and scattered. ONly problems I have had were neighbor dogs...

The bodies weren’t all gone. I just went out with my phone flashlight to look for prints and found complete devastation. And I saw a possum.

Could the possum have done all of this damage? I heard one of the chickens way down the driveway screaming. Did another possum drag it off yards and yards from the coop or did more than one predator attack???

All that’s left. Shaggy, Dottie Dots, Harley Quinn and Popcorn

And one of my broodies, Mrs. Pepperpots, is still on her nest

I use Amazon and Ebay. Been burned by both but as a result have learned to shop smart. Like mentioned, only use sellers with 4-5 star ratings and on Ebay, sellers with 99.5 or above ratings. Also learned on Ebay that if they are selling something cheap, they usually have a 99 or lower rating.
