The Old Folks Home

C'mon guys! It's summer! North or south think about this past winter and how miserably cold it was for some of us and how miserably snowy it was for the other half.

We are getting a bit of a break today. It's 81 with a high of 87 but the humidity is almost 70% so it isn't all that pleasant out. Still, be much better than a high of 10 with winds out of the Northwest at 24 gusts to 40 like it was this winter.

Personally, I'll take 90 degrees and high humidity to subfreezing and snow any day of the week. That is why God made Air Conditioners, Iced Tea and Pop sickles! And shade. Don't forget shade.

I am very used to the heat. I do know how to handle it because I have lived with it all my life.

When I was 17, Red Bluff had the record High two days in a row. 121.9F

That is hot!

95-98° here with a "real feel" of between 103-106° Tomorrow is forecast to be right around 99-100° so will feel 110°+ Super great for me as I have a Dr. appt. over at the VA in Shreveport so will be driving during the hottest part of the day. Need to be there by noon for lab draws, then the appt @ 2pm then the 2 hour drive back home.

Grilling rib eyes for dinner tonight along with corn on the cob. Hope all you hot folks can manage it and not suffer too bad. My daughter is here from Brunswick SCG, and she's complaining about the heat here. Guess she doesn't realize it's almost as bad back there as it is here (87° feels like 96°)

sWow.... sorry I ton have my glasses on.... there there yr

Day two NO PAIN... when I wake up... None Nada... Zip... I am astounded. Doc put me on a heavy shock dose of Prednazone for my Asthma... 100 mg a day ... one in morning and one at night... no weaning on or off.... Its kicking my asthma but It KICKED my arthrides big time... Dose ends to day or tomorrow.... Today

Its big news because I have been living with pain now for about twenty years.... coping eating Ibuprophin afraid to walk afraid to hurt myself.... shook my confidence big time... we will see if that euphoria wears off...

sigh

Prednisone is great and terrible at the same time. Enjoy while it lasts.

Hey bruce, this nasty southerner is not sharing her weather. Kiss my grits! :gig We're not even getting temps as high as some of you. It is raining a LOT which bring the temps down, but makes it very humid.
Oh, so not sharing but gifting!!! I wanna regift it to someone who likes hot and humid.

Scg and all you up north I hope this heat dome goes away quickly and give y'all some relief.
Your getting the weather we usually get here. So sorry.
At last, an apology ;)

HOTTER and more humid here than there. She might not be missing much in Brunswick. Weather Underground says Brunswick is currently 86° feels like 88°. Supposed to be a high of 88°. Must be more humid at your place to get the higher "feels like".

No we don't have central air. We have a large unit that exhausts outside for the bedroom area. I sewed a curtain to keep the cool air in, but allow the animals to move freely back and forth (amazing how they will whine and scratch at a closed door - always on the wrong side of it).

Spent most of the weekend under a quilt to try and finish it.

Someone I work with just got informed her adoption paperwork was approved for a 3 year old boy named Mason. He's developmentally disabled. I'm thinking about a mason jar quilt... with glow in the dark thread.
