The Old Folks Home

Morning all!

Going to try to catch up later. Yesterday was filled with what else? Harvesting wood. Dropped some small 4-5 inch hickories then tackled a big Black Locust. Got a lot chained up. Today we move it to the barn. Then off to the city to grocery shop.

In between all that I'm studying for my HAM radio upgrade to General License. It's like getting your beginners driving license and your regular license only with radios you can use more frequencies and band width with your General. Makes it easier to do digital contacts through your computer instead of being on the air to do them. It much harder than the Technician test so I'm spending whatever free time I have on it.

% eggs under my feed room broody are doing great. Candled them last night and they are on day 11 today.. 9 days to go....yay!

Y'all have a great Tuesday!

The baby and I have the house to ourselves, pretty much. Grandson has been wanting to watch a series of movies of some kind, and stay up all night. He's been bugging about it for awhile. Well, last night was the night. The entire household watched Harry Potter. The other kids dropped off by 2:00 am, and the other adults were done by 3:30 am. He and I stayed up until 6:30 am. The baby woke up at 9:30. She's fed, changed, and is entertained, so I'll let everyone else sleep in.

Yesterday, we dealt with boxes from when we moved in, that either needed to be unpacked, or stored in a better location. I'm almost done with them, and have the back bedroom just about cleaned completely out. I've been working at it steadily for about 3 weeks now. In a few days, we can move grandson's car bed in.

I'm placing you in our evening prayer circle:hugsstay safe
Thanks! It is quite an effort here to get the fire out. The fire crews have their base camp at the yolo county fairgrounds. There are a lot of them resting between shifts

Too dang hot to do anything let alone go out and cut wood!

I NEVER got used to her armpit hairs.
It is all culture and what you are used to. She probably looks at women with no armpit or leg hair the same way you looked at her.

The smoke was bad last night!

I hope it is better soon.
Me too! I just looked at Calfires. The one closest to you is 70,000 acres and only 5% contained

What a nice hot summer thing to do!

I did see adds for the Harry Potter marathon.

It will feel good to finish up the packing boxes

I know!

Sunset last night was awesome though..A blood red sun is something to see. The sun sets over the foothills where the fire goes from Yolo to Napa county

I have all the Harry Potter movies, so no commercials, but it was the ad's on tv that inspired me. I was originally going to do all the Star Wars, but I though Harry Potter was a better choice considering the age ranges. Of course we popped pop corn, and I had assorted candies for them. Lots of coffee for the adults, and iced tea for the kids.

I picked the first of my ripe grapes a bit ago. It's only a 2 year old plant but its out out a bunch considering the size of the plant. A few more days and most of the rest should be ripe.
