Nothing like this has happened in the 42 years that my friend and I have known one another. Don't know what happened to her for things to change. Her mother was severely bipolar and never took her meds. Makes me wonder. Still, I am past being able to deal with it.

Sometimes you have to take a stand, just like you are having to do with your daughter. I know how hard it is for you but you have to stand up for yourself. If people do not understand. Their problem. Not yours.

I pray that things straighten out for her.

@microchick , . True on the religion/sex/politics - especially in today's environment. It has been banned from all family discussions as SIL has no common sense about social interactions.

Hey, 'oldfolks', what's 'old'? My doctor keeps telling me to take it easy "You're not 25 anymore." My Mom lived to be 97. She always said, "Getting old is no sin. Acting old is." What's old ?

There was an article in the paper about an Elderly driver getting into an accident. The driver was 65. I guess that is elderly.

In the counseling courses I took for my Masters, an addiction specialist said that abuses like drugs and alcohol hit you after 40 years old.

Taking those two numbers, I would predict that most people need to be more careful starting somewhere between 40 and 65. Just like with poultry raising, there can be individual differences though

Sometimes behavior changes like that are the beginning of a health issue. My guess is that your friend either has a cardiovascular event looming or the beginning of one of the dementia's. Give the friend some leeway

Micro, have you tried warm sitz baths with epsom salts for your hen with laying issues?

Yeah, I immediately soaked her in warm water which I think did help her. I was ready to do round two and add the epsom salts but she passed the egg.

I''ve got a tube of prep H here somewhere....like who doesn't at our age.....I'll probably grease her up with that as soon as I find it.

Right now she is bawk bawk bawking her way around the run with the other birds, acting right as rain. But I want to keep her lubed up and probably give her another quarter baby aspirin for inflammation before the day is over. I don't care if she ever lays another egg. She's a cutie that I want around.

All of this mess started because she wanted to come see me.
And I had already told her she was never to come back here after she stole money from DH and stole all my meds out of my safe. After she stole my keys out of my purse.
And she knows dh is facing back surgery and he's on meds.
That I believe was her intentions. And I would not let her come so she got angry.

You are doing the right thing. You need to protect yourself

chicka, I'd like to suggest Al-anon, or Nar-anon. Whichever group is available to you. You'd be surprised about how many families go through what you are dealing with. Both are good programs. They're very knowledgeable, and insightful with helping cope with the things you're going through, like the guilt, regrets, etc.
Just remember:
1. You didn't cause it.
2. It's not your fault.
3 You have no control over it.
4. You can't change it.

I've been staying in a trailer next to the house. If my mom needed anything she'd always call me. I woke up six times last night to check my phone......

This is not going to be easy.

Lost Ma think 2 years ago now maybe 1 .... still cry We were not always close the closest last 4 or 5 Lord knows I love and Miss her still think buy have learned not to kinda...

Guess I was dust sick had me down for the count BF had it right .. We have the newer of the two snapper mowers neighbor took old one to get this running I suggested it when he kept talking of it.. our property has been a mole heaven we have almost won but the back yard is full of old holes that have not grown grass or weeds need to put some seed on it
so as I did the yard dust clouds flew I small person doesn't take much but the back is mowed there is like a 1/3 of the property that had so many moles the ground is squishy
wondered what would top over a apple tree that is at least 85 years old Moles
