The two family members I have left are basically cut out of the will.

So, there's that.

I have a special document section in the house and will tell 3 friends where it is located once it's signed and sealed in the next few weeks. I will also do my best to not perish in the next 3 weeks, the anticipated length of time to make it official.

I am not actively dying but I did get to leave work early today to dictate a will, and dedicate healthcare and regular power of attorney.

That was so much fun.


I highly recommend most people go and do that. It was an hour. Can't say it was painless, but it's done.

Yeah, don't make just another 3 weeks!!! Maybe another 50 years

I hope the POA is "clean and detailed". I don't even know exactly what that would mean but there is someone on BYH involved with someone who's POA (DIL) basically stole her money and apparently there is nothing that can be done due to the way the POA was written. Instead of paying the mortgage, the money went elsewhere so now an elderly disabled woman is losing her home. Makes me , I would be happy to assist this person to have an "accident". She SHOULD be in jail for embezzlement and elder abuse.

Glad you brought this up... I can't find mine... I called my lawyer.... guess I am stuck not dying for 2 months.. probably take me that long to get a will set-up, if I can't find my old one.

Sometimes this thread moves quickly and things get lost. I know it is hard for me to keep up!
SCG will most likely not say anything about this but I think you would like to know the "dad" that was in the hospital, and now doing better, was the grandfather of the two children staying with her (nieces and nephews of her BF...children of his sibling living with/in custody of his parents/their grandparents).
She lost her father last year.

I think you all know I have a half sister that was cut from our lives the last 10 years,
unbeknown to me our niece that was abused by said half sister my brother knew how
to reach her and did as Ma was dying .. I was then told I had to help pay for many things
my Brother told me .. I know there much cash from the sale of the family home used in the purchase of where my Brother and hid girlfriend live and 2 life policy's .. he said none of her share of the property is true and she let the life policy's drop of course I have no access to the property or her last home nor does my niece

That is very sad. Your should be able to trust your own kin. I feel so incredibly fortunate that through both of my parent's passings my sisters and I were able to work together, it was one of the biggest blessings we recieved.

Grandma did a living trust and everything is delineated down to executors and Powers of attorney... Only three of us direct descendants left and two descendants through marriage... Even the funeral and gravesite were prepaid years ago.

Their plots are in Hermosa Cemetary... Which has been around a very very very long time... Wyatt Earps brother is buried there... Their family settled in Colton California when they moved from I think it was Chicago. My mom and dad lived in Colton when I was born...

Love history and love it when our foot steps cross it over the years.
