The Old Folks Home

Hmmmm no fences between properties in Missouri? Out here in deep rural MO there are barbed wire and 'sheep' fences everywhere mainly due to the Amish population and all the livestock.

I was shocked the other day. Drove by the farm where I bought my Bantam cross eggs and almost ran off the road when I saw a cock peacock strolling around his pasture. DH commented 'wonder where he got that from?' my response, 'I dunno but I bet real money he tries to butcher and eat it':th

So there are fences between properties, they are just 5-6 strand barbed wire for the most part with some woven 'goat' fencing added in places where they have sheep. Even with that it isn't unusual to have the neighbors livestock occasionally pop over for a visit. Once a flock of sheep turned up in our yard and another time several cattle were in our timber. Just part of living around here.

I agree with the fence idea. Always went by the saying good fences make good neighbors. I'd at least fence off the garden and blueberries. It's better living with neighbors next door when you get along.

Feel better this morning. Just tired. Going into town for a few groceries before noon.

Penny, your pizza crust is pretty much like mine but I love the way the cheese caramelized on yours.

Clue, glad you had a good time. Wonderful memories for you and the kids.

Dang @Beercan... That's a really tough spot to be in... rock on one side and hard place on the other. They say a woman never forgets... IME the women I've been in close contact with certainly were able to recall the most minor infraction I may have had years in the past... Perhaps you should jog DW's memory about how the neighbors treated your birds once upon a time? Then a roll of 2x4x48" welded wire around the garden should alleviate most of the issue. should keep the rabbits out as well. Hope you come to some workable solution.

Mostly it was in the towns. Here we have them between all of the houses. Usually we share the fence with each neighbor. To replace the fences at my place, three neighbors would be involved
