I love banana bread. Baked a small apple pie for DH yesterday testing apples in the orchard for ripeness. Made a small apple crisp for myself as my stomach isn't liking me too much these days. Must have turned out good cause we ate it for dinner last night, LOL.

SGC beautiful work. Every soul there tells a story and I'm sure glad somebody is keeping those stories alive.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I moved the grow out coop today from the shaded side of the shed to where it can get more sun and dry out. It will mean shading the west side but that's okay. Also hung a new tarp in the big hens run. So proud of those girls. I thought they were all gonners for sure but they are coming out every day to scratch around with Tres keeping a close eye on them and really showing an interest in life. I'm so happy I get to keep them around for awhile longer and watch them hopefully grow older.

I also finally got to catch Farrah tonight. That Fayoumi hen has the most amazingly soft feathers I've ever encountered. They feel like down. Just an amazingly beautiful bird. She is about 4 months old now and a lot bigger than I thought she would be. Body wise about as big as my largest bantam cross but she has these giraffe legs on her. Can hardly wait to get more.

Thanks for the tip about spraying the run with Oxine. I'm about to do the fall cleaning. I need to get masks and more chips before tucking into the chore.

@bruceha2000. 50mph wind did that. Bet you had some higher wind gust come through to do that.
We started our first fire tonight after spending about 2 hours cleaning the pipes out. Nasty nasty job is all I can say that I hate like poison but know we need to do. Down in the high 40s tonight here. Nice for a few days then storms and fall temps. Heck, it's almost October!

I always wonder if any of the stones you put back up are people that I am descended from. My mom's side came to the US just a few years after the Mayflower. ... up there in New England.

Either way though... I love seeing the stones that you fix up.

Might also be what you burn...

Hard woods burn cleaner.

Burning spruce we MUST clean before start up of the season... and sometimes half way through it needs a second cleaning.
