The Old Folks Home

Well I couldn't leave it like that.
Of course you couldn't. Nor could you (apparently) take care of it in small, reasonable sessions ;) Too bad Ripley didn't come help pull some of those roots. But then the dog might start digging in the wrong place and keep going until something that shouldn't be taken out is unearthed.

I am so sore! I did a 3 mile walk with Ripley this morning, planted my garlic, then decided it was probably one of the last nice days of the season, time to do that landscaping I promised myself I'd do before the end of the season.

This was Doe Cemetery when we found it last month, 5 October. We had pulled down some of the greenery to erect our sign. We tramped through and found some stones, but it was really jungle like in there.

Did I mention I was sore?

I got about 90% of it done, roots and all. The area to the right of the double stone has a small, newer (1971) flat gravestone and while I cleared around it and next to it, I didn't clear the area in front of it. I could barely walk back to my car as it were. It really is a gorgeous cemetery, you can see the Kennebec River in the distance.

I get home and trying to slug my way out of the drivers seat and bf is like we need to go to the dump, and all those boxes your sewing machine came in are already in the truck (took me an hour to break them down Thursday AM) and he wanted help unloading those. So I went to the dump.

I then ate something, consumed the maximum single dose of both naproxen and acetaminophen, soaked in the hottest water my furnace could put out, and now I'm debating what I can do for the rest of the evening that doesn't involve moving.

Love your work!

Frame is done, just half the barn. I need to clean the wood and paint it.
