The Old Folks Home

Good morning, Oldies.

I hope they are planning to help a LOT with the prep and cleanup.

Daughter made the turkey, stuffing, some vegetables and a pie. I made 5 vegetable dishes. After we were finished, SIL and 2 grandsons did clean up.

Anyone going black friday shopping tomorrow? I plan to go to Joann Fabrics.

The Princess, gatherer supreme, will be out there. SMH.

One of the absolute best things about large holiday meals is the leftovers... at least for the next couple days... after that they get kinda old. Anyway, I already had my first plate of leftover food for breakfast. A nice slice of chocolate pudding pie covered with whipped cream :D:drool

What? You think I should have had turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, potatoes, & candied yams all smothered in gravy for breakfast? I'm saving that for lunch and again a dinner! (maybe followed by more pie ;))

No Black Friday shopping here. I have NO masochistic streak in me. Did it once about 100 years ago with my mom ad told her NEVER AGAIN! I'd be happy to drive her to the door and let her out and pick her up but life is too short for that much stress. I just can't stand crowds.

Raining here today but I'm decorating! As in Deck the Halls!

SGC, sorry about the family thing. Can't live with them against the law to killem so you are stuck with them. I was kid of POed at the neighbor all day. These are the folks with 13 kids that suddenly after spending almost two years in MO. Decided that it was too hot in the summer and not cold enough in the winter (they are from ND) They spent the whole of deer season doing a timber harvest complete with chain saws, skid steers and large timber haulers. We think they are trying to get money ahead for a new house in WI.

SO yesterday, these people were out most of the day running the skid steer and chain saws. It's like :rantwith the little guy ranting SHUT THE NOISE UP! Last year they were into the invite the elderly neighbors over for dinner we are so happy here and this years it's like lets see how much noise we can make and spoil the tranquil holiday for everyone.

DH said, maybe they will be gone by Christmas.....I can only hope...:fl I told DH I hope an Amish family buys their place because at least the Amish don't stuff your mailbox full of religious pamphlets and try to convert you to their religion.:barnie
