Hate dieting.

Good luck. Sure am glad you got the BP down.

@JD4570, why no pork ? Cut carbs it works, and for me reduces inflammation.

No I want to put up a holiday avatar but, not ready yet, maybe a couple more days.
Thanks for asking. The pony is in a safe place - he'll be back

No not that one. Put back the one with the two bus ladies chatting. :gig

The problem with steroids is that long term they can wreak havoc on your overall bone health. I suspect all the steroid injections I've gotten down through the years have contributed to my Osteoporosis, osteopenia and osteoarthritis that I have now.

JD, good job on dropping the weight and lowering your BP. I don't mind so much giving up pork. I like pork but don't miss eating it. Now beef. I don't eat a lot. A hamburger or some casserole or spaghetti with it once a week. Most of the time I eat chicken or turkey and am happy with that. So giving it up (beef) isn't all that big of a thing except....nothing I enjoy more food wise then going out to eat and ordering a nice steak grilled medium rare. Usually do that once a year.

Problem for me though right now is doc gave me a shot of toradol which is a powerful anti-inflammatory on the same level strength wise as an RX pain killer along with a shot of methylprednisolone so I have no idea if it's the shots that are helping me at this point or the diet....maybe both?

I went off the wagon big time last night and made white sauce pizza with chicken, mushrooms spinach and cheese on my half and sausage and cheese on DH's half and so far so good. No more pain than usual for a morning.

I've got to lose at least 65 pounds...but I'm aiming for an 81 pound loss.....and no more pork...ever.:hit
:eek::hit:hit NOOOOOoooooooo say it aint so! That would be one of the most difficult things to try and do & more importantly succeed at! Maybe even more difficult than stopping smoking (finally achieved that in 9/2010 after many tries & years of failed attempts). Really do wish you the best of luck losing the weight. Maybe if you "limit" the pork you have and enjoy in very small doses on rare occasions...

Sorry for your loss of your mom.
