The Old Folks Home

Not eating? Hopefully not getting into dark stuff like cutting

She's mentally disabled and pretty sick baseline but for the last few weeks has been nauseous and some throwing up (some days eating like a horse). She has a bad baseline diet but can't keep weight on anyway (she's 5th percentile for weight) and has lost 10 lbs this month. From where I don't know.
They are doing a slew of tests and likely putting an NG tube in tonight to assist in getting some calories in. She will likely have to be sedated to keep it in.

I lost my mind on the boy today when I got home from work.

Not sure if it sunk in but he at least did the dishes after dinner (lots of reminders and guidance) but then offered on his own to help me with laundry and helped me make a loaf of bread which he found delicious (artisan italian) and wants to make cheddar loaf tomorrow.

I'll take the little victories. Bf has to work tomorrow. I offered to work it instead but he needs a break from 2 days with the boy. My turn.

That is tough!

Good news on getting the nephew in line

:hugs @superchemicalgirl
Take him and the dog on a loooonngg walk. It will do all of you good.

He refuses to do anything .last time he was here I made him walk and less than a mile in he threw up
No joke
Anything that makes him sweat (which is pretty much anything considering how out of shape he is) he refuses to do .

OK a short walk. Several times ;)

I imagine he is totally stressed out. Mom attempted suicide, Grampy just died, sister having lots of trouble. How old is he?

Maybe also testing. "How little can I do and get away with it?" (Similar to DD2) But maybe helping with dishes, laundry and cooking will give him a sense of self worth.

If the niece is mentally disabled are there some state run programs that can help her? I can't imagine a homeless shelter is a good place for a mentally disabled person though I'm sure that is little different than the homeless people that have psychological problems.

:hugs

So much stress. :hugs

Hope it works out.... or at least that you manage not to kill him. :fl

Have not tried online ordering may try it at walmart this next month
I just went on line they were showing our location as Scottsdale AZ....we wish. When I corrected the zip it proudly announced. "Not available at your location!" Poor Missouri. Always the red headed step child.

@superchemicalgirl, please quit beating yourself up. Mental and emotional illness has more than one victim, the person suffering from it has a whole asteroid belt of victims, family, friends who love them and are victims of their loved ones illness the same as the person who is suffering from the illness.

Yeah, my mom. I was young when she was evaluated. She was put on medicine but would never take it. Never told me what the doctors told her. But now looking back I can recognize her illness for what it was....I wish she had been compliant but you cannot force compliance in anyone. Hang in there. You know we all care about you.

I'm still coughing a lot. I think I'm on top of it and then the next thing I know I'm coughing for 20 minutes solid. No temp though so I think I am on the back side of it. Bad news is now DH is sick.

Sounds like a victory to me! How old are they?

It's okay. The last 2 days were bfs turn to try not to kill the kid. This weekend is my 2 days to try not to kill him.

I got this. I hope.
Yeah, you got this. I have faith in you!
